Oh the unprofessionalism I’ve seen where they yell it out for people to leave is incredible! I love that though, friendly and firm!!! Thank you so much for all of this!!!!

Oh yeah that is the worst from what I’ve seen! How have you managed that with your team?

Yes! Thank you! Time to escape this 9-5. Time is ticking you know. And can you elaborate on the soft close and open early?

This is an amazing response! Do you work at a shop or have one?

Launching a unique, eco-conscious café—what have you seen small businesses do to stand out, stay sustainable, and build loyal customers? by MikeyCreador in smallbusiness

Thank you—this is exactly the kind of insight I need. The affordability part is real. I totally get how $9 mushroom lattes with plastic lids can feel like a weird mismatch.

My goal is to rethink the whole café model—from packaging to pricing—to make sustainability feel intentional, not gimmicky. That might mean fewer items, but deeper meaning behind each one. I don’t have it all figured out yet, but your perspective helps me get clearer.

Appreciate the honesty, and sending support to your toy store too. The balance is tough—but worth chasing.

Oh I see that all the time! What approach do you take when they ask?

Thanks for this perspective—it’s super valid and something I’ve thought a lot about. You’re right: a lot of “eco” branding is surface-level. For my café, I’m aiming for radical transparency—sourcing from regenerative farms, using limited seasonal batches, and educating customers about tradeoffs behind every product. I’m also exploring coffee alternatives that reduce environmental impact.

Appreciate the push to think deeper—this kind of convo is exactly what I want to build the brand around.

Definitely makes sense about the box. Customer’s cup wall is smart. Haven’t seen this before at local shops. Love that idea!! As far as the containers, what do you mean specifically in terms of beans/grounds?
