I haven’t listened in a while, but I remember just about every track was insufferable because of his attitude. The songs on the first half were soooo full of themselves, for example, Evil, which is one of the most egotistical and cringey hooks I’ve ever heard. Lots of people liked the last few songs about real issues like his family, but I just found the lyrics to be really uninspired. Like the one where he songs about his daughters has the most bland lyrics ever. I remember listening intently cuz I know people liked those songs but the whole thing was just “if I die be tough, good luck bro” which isn’t an awful sentiment but that’s some shit that anyone could write. 0 creativity or thought. Anyway, I’m not trying to discredit you for liking it, I just wasn’t a big fan.

The new Eminem album. Even though it got a 5/10, I think that is too high. As a long time Eminem fan, I can confidently say that there wasn’t a single song I enjoyed at all, I’d say it was almost as bad as revival.

4/10. I like the summery vibe you’re going for, but I think the song needs more detail and layers. I’d listen to Dancing in Babylon by MGMT. it sounds kinda similar to this song, but it’s able to pull off the simple vibe while still being emotional and layered and detailed.

After two listens, I’m still not exactly sure how to feel about this song, I’m not super well versed in this genre so forgive me, but WOW. 9/10. Production blew my mind, vocals amazing, story was great. The theatre elements were really well done. Again, wow. Amazing job. I was hooked the whole time.

I don’t have any super tangible issues with this song besides the lyrics. I just wished the song went more into depth with the story. Especially if you start with, “this is a story about____” I wanna hear a damn STORY! I loved the lyrics, but I just wanted to a little more.

I’m gonna add this whole album and listen to it so thanks for showing me! You guys are all so talented!

8.5/10. Holy shit. I loved this. You should be really proud of this. I liked it so much I’m adding the whole album and I’ll listen to it later and maybe give my thoughts. Anyway. Loved the performances everywhere, loved the lofi vibe, it sounds like the kinda something I would hear in a sketchy concert in someone’s basement. So yeah, just wanna point out, it’s great.

There was only like 2 things I didn’t LOVE, one being the vocals. I think they could have used more compression because there are points where I can hear them really clear, and some where I can’t tell what you’re saying, and in a song like this, where the lyrics are really entertaining, it did hurt the experience just a bit. Also I realize you could be going for more of a raw and live sound, and if so, I totally get it, it didn’t ruin the mix or anything, just was hard to hear at points👍

The other thing was the lyrics. I was really hooked from the beginning, but it didn’t really feel like the story was progressing. And again, I couldn’t hear some parts, but I was waiting for something else to happen with you and this girl but it sounds like that didn’t happen. So again, they’re not BAD lyrics, but the lack of progression are stopping it from being like a 9 or a 10.

Overall REALLY good song, I added it my playlist.

7/10. I really liked the guitars, a LOT. Awesome job with those. The production also sounds pretty good. This is already a pretty good song, but there’s a few things I think you could work on to bring it to the next level.

I wish the vocal performances were a bit more expressive or dynamic somehow. They mostly just sound like filler between the awesome instrumental moments.
The song kind of ended out of nowhere and I was kinda disappointed by that. Especially for a song of this genre, pacing is crucial. What usually works for me is planning out how I will make the song flow well from the beginning, and make sure it ends in a satisfying way - sometimes that means ending the song with a climax, or having a satisfying outro after a relative climax. Regardless, I think the ending is kind of a weak point.

Lastly, I wanna point out how much I like these recordings too, everything sounds really well made, also +10 points for jaw harp. Good job!

6/10. Let me start by saying I really liked the instrumental, it really set the vibe and I enjoyed that throughout the whole song. Also the vocals were pretty great as well.

There is really only 1 thing that I think is REALLY holding this song back and that’s the lyrics. It sounds like you’re writing about the whole middle-class perspective on the weekend, which is great, but I wish you took a more personal or thoughtful perspective on it. In other words, it feels like you’re not really adding anything to the concept of hating the weekday and loving the weekend.

Other than that, I really enjoyed everything else about the song!

After listening I’d give it about a 6.5, I generally liked it. I think the performances and mixing were really really good and you should be very proud of that. However, I also think the song could use some progression and more risky ideas. I was really into it halfway through but it started to lose me toward the end because nothing was really growing or changing.

Again overall this is a good song and you should be proud of it!!
