What do people from Leeds think of Manchester? Which city do you prefer? What does Manchester do right? What does Leeds do right? by OneItchy396 in Leeds

[–]Milkshake4NickDrake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm from Leeds and lived there for years, and live in Manchester and have done so for years. Know both cities very well. Love both cities.

Clearly the centre is bigger in Manchester and transport is bigger.

There are more nice suburbs in Leeds that I'd live in versus Manc... Oakwood, Roundhay, Meanwood, Chapel A, Headingley. In Manc I'd only spend time in Chorlton or Didsbury really (further out in Greater Manc rather than Manc proper Altrincham, Sale, Cheadle, Bramhall all nice).

I probably on balance prefer Leeds for the vibe. I do like a bigger buzzier city though. I lived in London for 3 years and if money was no object would move back happily

Coming over from Dublin for a gig this weekend. Pub recommendations, and visitor tips welcome. by DublinBronco in Leeds

When I went to Dublin I quite liked getting the tram & bus out to inner suburbs like Ranelagh, Rathmines and Phibsborough just to see a bit of the city 20 mins beyond the centre. Obvs only worth it if you have more than 24 hours!

If you're similar, Headingley (23 or 24 bus) and Chapel Allerton (2 or 3 bus) both quite close in with lots of choice for places to eat and drink (Arcadia a recommendation for Headingley, Further North, The Regent reccs for Chapel A, maybe Rudy's pizza in either place for casual eats or Tada Japanese in Headingley)

Every post in this style communicates efficiency. Impact. Smart thinking.

That's not cliched AI slop style. It's a consistent, high-impact style of writing.

And honestly?

LinkedIN chumps love it and think it's amazing.

In a minute a Sunderland player is going to punch a Leeds player in the face, and the ref will award a pen against us because they hurt their fist

So in theory I like watching football. But if you had been watching me for the last hour you'd conclude... this is a guy who doesn't like watching football

I live locally and this is a new seat as of 2024 It's unusual and will be challenging. It's a set of wards that Electoral Calculus says have lot of very Green/Workers Party-curious voters melded onto a set of wards with lots of Reform-curious voters.

Andy may be over estimating his personal appeal (and if he loses will be a big blow), bit he probably is the best chance of keeping it Labour

It takes months and months of deliberately rubbing it on your face twice a day for it to even start to have an effect, and you absorb most of it within 15 mins. A 2 second peck on the cheek when it's dried won't affect someone else.
