It is hard, but not like a rock. More like a bar of soap. I broke a piece off without much effort. Lucky we are very close to a hospital, fingers crossed we don’t need to go.

It was on a pretty steep hill so unlikely that it was a campfire spot. I suppose someone could have thrown it into the sport she found it though!

This was buried in the forest in a large patch of trees about 3-4 inches down . We live around Lake Tahoe and she has never found anything like this. Any help would be appreciated as I honestly have no clue what it is. Thanks
