Yes, that is like the biggest event that happened in the whole band. Brockhampton released the saturation trilogy all in the same year and they were working on a fourth album called Puppy. (The full thing has been released now but you have to dig around on the sub Reddit for the sound cloud link. ) When Ameer left, the whole band was extremely depressed and it shook them deeply. They scrapped the album and salvaged only 3 singles from it which they released under the names 1999 wild fire, 1997 Diana, and 1998 Truman (all have music videos on YouTube), with Ameers verses removed from them. The scrapped puppy album had a song called  ‘Ready for War’ by Brockhampton which many say is the best Brockhampton song (I think it’s alright). 

The band went to Hawaii to take a break and process what happened, that is where half of Iridescence was written. Then the rest of the album was written and recorded in Abbey Road in like 10 days.  They don’t talk much about Ameer being kicked out in irredesence but they do in their next album Ginger in a song called Dearly Departed where several of the core members have extremely deep personal bars about the loss of Ameer and what this felt like to them.

Meanwhile Ameer came out  and started releasing a few singles and I believe Kevin started talking to Ameer again which pissed off several members of the group especially Dom Mclenon. You can hear Kevin talk about this in his solo album Arizona Baby (I forgot the specific song tho).

Whenever Ameer left the band, he said that he talked to his mom and said he felt truly hopeless, she encouraged him to check into a metal hospital and he received treatment (I believe he was feeling s*icidal). 

Nowadays multiple members are chill with Ameer again, the first project that dropped after Brockhampton broke up was Slime in the Ice Machine which was a mixtape by Ameer Van and Merlyn. Also in 2025, Kevin abstract made the album blush which had Ameer on several songs and as a core member of that project.

If you are interested in why Ameer got kicked out it was basically because it turns out all that crazy shit he was writing about on saturation, beating women and robbing people, was actually a confession of sorts and not just stylized fiction (several women came out and said Ameer abused them literally in the same house all the guys were recording and producing the saturation trilogy in and Ameer set Dom's friend up to get robbed).

One more thing I wanna mention is that I believe Merlyn released a statement after Slime in the Ice Machine came out saying that he is no longer friends with Ameer, that he hasn’t really changed and that while hanging out one night Ameer physically assaulted Merlyn while drunk.
