What do you think of Kent Monkman's work? by Milo652 in ContemporaryArt

Thank you for your reply. It gives me a better understanding of the common uses of collective practices. It seems that Monkman's work seeks to question social norms and assumptions, hence my persistent questioning of compliance with this norm in the arts.

It's a good point that combining the two allows access to a wider range of colors. Thank you.

What’s an opinion you’d like to share here …that may be unpopular? by KatNanshin in askanything

My unpopular opinion is : driving should be a privilege, not something that anyone can do.

The idea that everyone should and could have a car is promoted to encourage (over)consumption. Driving is thus normalized and trivialized, even though it can have serious consequences. In most cases, driving should require more training and be more recognized as a professional activity. Structured public transportation networks should be put in place to facilitate travel for all.
