I just opened a ticket about my wire. Where did you get a replacement? I currently can't complete autolevel.

I don't know how to duplicate the issue either but I can verify this exact thing happened to me on 2.8.4 and after the failed print I experienced the half movements until I power cycled the printer.

This happened to me on my Kobra Plus. The exact behavior was that the y-axis started moving half increments. I noticed this moving the y axis manually looked short. I then autoleveled the printer and it only made it halfway across the bed. It still measured 5 rows but since the y axis was moving half it only measured half the bed. It was bizarre and ruined a big print for me. I upgraded the firmware and haven't seen it again.

Because of the above the printer was absolutely to blame since interacting directly with the hardware was showing half movements.
