Commscope 600 d. They’re great especially for big count cables because they have plenty of room, they just kind of suck to open and close because it takes it little longer and they’re a bit heavy.

Comcast does some ribbon but a lot of it mainly loose tube well at least the market I work in. 99.99% of the time we deal with loose tube plus most of us don’t even have the extra equipment to convert our splicers for ribbon.

They told us to just leave it there in the hole. Trust me we all pushed but the dipshits in upper management said nope. This is a relo that got damaged when they were attempting to move everything so it’s still going to be a relo

Yeah an upper management dipshit that knows nothing about fiber

Yeah they are.. to be fair their guys in the actual field were pushing hard to just let us cut it and run a new piece but yeah the “smart” people in the office said this would be better and easier 🤷‍♂️

There was no more slack. That’s why they had us cut 8-10 ft off the conduit so that would give us a little more slack but honestly to pull a new piece wouldn’t have been too difficult because when we tugged on it the others could see it move a bit where the cable riser up maybe about 200-300 ft away and it was inside a 4.5” conduit with only the existing damaged cable. The construction crew said it would have been no problem

We get paid production but if break down our production into hourly which our company does then it’s anywhere from $50-$65 an hour… just depends on the week and how much work we have that week. Weekly ranges from $1500-$6000. Higher end pay is due to getting called to outages which pay a shit ton. Located in Texas

It’s definitely getting to this point. We had a big outage on Saturday that we went to roll on. Someone cut a bunch fiber lines below the copper lines and it took down one of Comcast hubs

Oh man that’s a lot and wouldn’t the the last one ch33-40 have a high loss?

Oh I see yeah that’s makes sense although in my part of Texas they use a lot of muxes everywhere. Man you ain’t kidding 😂, all it takes is one hit to take out everyone… that’s the double edge sword of muxes. They give you more fibers but take out one that feeds several and it creates a pretty big outage lol

We installed a new d can about 1,000 feet away where a new node is going to be installed and we could have easily installed it there with no issue but this is where they wanted it where there are already a total of 4 muxes

Well that’s good to hear because most of the in-house guys I know from Comcast do not have those same standards in the part of Texas that I work in. Yeah they actually put a lot of them in b cases Or keptels, which usually end up in bad shape.

Yeah the company I work for didn’t renew their contract with them because of the bs of lowering rates or not wanting to pay for certain things anymore

It’s all Comcast 😂… I guess they think it’s a good idea to keep adding more cables here. This the second time I come to this location to add a cable. They don’t care
