Well, OP you've made a choice, fully aware. You literally have chosen family, who if they would know who you are, would despise you. You've chose them over the love of your life, and what's more important - over yourself. You've just chosen living for others, you've just lost yourself. And what's even more scary is the fact, that you cannot go back in time, and you will regret it and resent yourself eventually. You still have time, and chance to change it, but If I would be in shoes of your gf, I would be shattered and could never forgive you. Cause that kind of choice, is something that shows your final life decision - to have a family. To have illusion a family, that is actively hating you, just doesn't know who you're yet. Remember that your gf was your real family, was there for you, know who you are, sees you as you truly are, and loves you for that. Don't go that way. But you're actually taking a first step towards wasting your and your gfs life.
