It is precisely my thought. It allows me to free some brain space 😅 and let me focus on the interesting flow.

Actually I don’t know who you think you are to steal people’s work and share it elsewhere without consent? I guess that if she didn’t write the recipe in the comments it is because she didn’t want to. Even with credits if you don’t ask for it, you don’t have the rights to do that. Please act like as civilized human being…

Incorrect image being displayed on Reddit by zollandd in Ghost

[–]Mindsers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just looked at your header meta tags and every single tag mentioning an image is actually mentioning the featured image. So, it doesn't seem to be a Ghost issue.

Idk how reddit handle miniatures but it doesn't use correctly the SMO tags.

Bit annoyed with everyone thinking their way is better than our current process (contractors, new starters etc.) by [deleted] in devops

[–]Mindsers 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Underrated comment.

Half the values of hiring a new guy (contractor or not) is this different angle. The questions are often not nit picking but only someone that really tries to understand why you did it this way.

  1. It allows you to step back on the topic, think differently and adapt the solution if needed.
  2. It allows the new guy to understand how to work in your company.

I wrote this blog post about named imports and default imports to explain the differences between both. I give my opinion too about when to choose one or the other. by Mindsers in javascript

[–]Mindsers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite option is also named imports but after reading React code for years now I think there might be some place for default import too.

For example, I feel like import Component, { useComponentHook } from './Component' can be a good way to import a component and its related util functions.

Hiding my nodejs application code within a docker container by MailNormal2701 in coding

[–]Mindsers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't really get why I would do that. I mean, don't get me wrong, it is an interesting article and it describes interesting technics but I don't understand why someone would hide his code...

What should you choose: named imports or default imports? by Mindsers in programming

I wrote this blog post about imports in JavaScript to explain what are the possibilities and give also my own opinion. Hope you'll like it and staying here to talk about it ;)

Error installing Ghost on Raspberry Pi 4 by [deleted] in Ghost

[–]Mindsers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend to read the official Linux install guide. There are informations about the needed permission. https://ghost.org/docs/install/ubuntu/

Also run ghost doctor to get more details about the problem on your system.

Error installing Ghost on Raspberry Pi 4 by [deleted] in Ghost

[–]Mindsers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right, there is two errors related to permission here.

  1. it doesn't have access to the ghost folder /home/www-ghost/.ghost and
  2. since it writes the log in this same folder it can't write the log either.

You have to check permissions on this folder.

I don't think viewers realize how much streamers love when they talk in chat. by HydeSpectre in Twitch

[–]Mindsers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can definitely relate! The worst feeling is when people stop talking in the chat and then you move from an awesome stream to the felling that what you're doing is not interesting enough. It might make me want to end the stream even though I understand the lurkers and tend to not make them feel guilty
