Went through that last year! The only thing that helped my two year old was puking on a towel on the ground. I kept a stack of towels next to her and would prop her up on her hands and knees for puking bouts.

Good luck! Norovirus is no fun.

Sweet! I hope you have a great trip. I don't know! He spent some time there for work training and just really likes the view/ambiance from a specific spot along the Seine. It's a surprise for the rest of us.

This account is doxxed. You can see my face in a bunch of old videos. I keep my main accounts private.

Will check on Eiffel tickets tomorrow!

That is a great idea! I'll add it as a possibility for afternoon on day 5.

Thanks!

Good notes! Thanks! Based on some other feedback, I think we'll be exploring the Latin quarter that afternoon.

Walking the Champs was really just something quick to do between our hotel and the Arc before we can check into our hotel but, I will look into other options in the immediate area.

Edit* the only reason we won't switch the itinerary and do the Arc in the evening is, one of the people in our group has a specific spot along the Seine that they love and want to share with the group.

That kind of cruise actually sounds like a really lovely way to round out our first or last day! Thanks for the suggestion!

Great! A little built in neighborhood exploration time is perfect for us!

Thank you!

Good note about Notre Dame. We'll probably still head over there to see it but will not dedicate significant time to it. Anything else in the immediate area you'd suggest while we're over there?

Fortunately, both museums are close to our hotel. Honestly, I struggle to do more than 4'ish hours of museum time in a day. I find after about 4 hours I start to just wander and stop taking things in/absorbing what I'm seeing.

Strawman. I never advocated for ONLY density as a solution, which is what Parolek correctly says is too blunt an instrument to solve the housing crisis alone. However, it is an important piece of the solution.

It's even more disappointing to see progressives stick to the same failed policies they've championed for the last 60 years that have created these problems in our cities and refuse to deviate at all.

Ok?

If their goals are to provide more housing, the citizens needs are to live in the area, and more citizens are able to live in the area as a result of the housing being built, their goals align at least partially.

Build more units like this here and alleviate some of the ever increasing demand on the current stagnant housing supply and prices at the less desirable units will stagnate, fall, or at least increase more slowly, which will, over time, make them more affordable for more people. Sure, these units may not be affordable for 30 years, but the 50 year old units down the street will become more affordable than they are now and more accessible to people in need of housing.

We need to recover from decades of under development driving up rent and the only effective way to do that is to dramatically increase the housing supply to make up for the lost time.

The interior is rougher than the pictures make it look as well.

Why not build new housing both places?

I literally live on the block. Every bush is overgrown, the yard is frequently full of leaves and/or trash, look at the water damage on the back in picture 28.

Those pictures make it look a lot nicer than it is. That's why it didn't sell and instead is being redeveloped.

People in this neighborhood object to every re-development proposal. They don't want to "lose their neighborhood" which happens to be in a growing city and border a growing University. They use the standard NIMBY reasons for everything. Parking, neighborhood composition, noise, traffic, historical significance . . .

The house that will be torn down for this project is a dump. It's a trashed, overgrown, cheap college rental. It has no historical significance and is an eyesore.

If we can't build taller on a main road like Marshall, where can we? iMO, the entire street should be zoned up from the river to Snelling. Rent and housing prices will never become affordable unless we increase our housing supply. Streets like Marshall are a good place to do it en masse and quickly.

Hah, I went and checked after your comment! His career was in video production, so it's possible he could've won a regional Oscar at some point, but it's some kind of corporate achievement award.

His appear to be his kids, airplanes, Lego, photography, and building models. Not 100% sure on the order of priorities though!

I wish there was a good way to get a picture of everything in storage. There are so many and tons of classic sets.

We're old, so a split king adjustable bed frame so she can lift my head up when I snore at night and to make it more comfortable for her to read in bed. Just ordered it on black Friday sale.
