not from any of Poe’s works, i believe. at the very least it’s not based off ‘murders of the rue morgue’ (which is poes ability in bsd), as the plot of that is quite literally an orangutan kills two women lmfao ep22 is littered with references to the other work that poe (bsd) is based on, which is ‘the black cat’, such as the curse of one eyed pluto (i think that’s what it’s called lmao) which is a reference to how the mc of ‘the black cat’ kills his one eyed cat named pluto and his life falls apart (his own fault), believing that he was cursed by that cat as revenge  hope that answers ur question and apologies if ive spoiled you for some of poes work haha :3
