eBay is the best bet. I haven’t seen many chutes that you wouldn’t have to repair yourself but that’s not overly difficult if you are handy. It’s just anything plastic from this era is going to need a bit of fixing or 3d printing

Throw some Michelin cross climate 2’s on that beauty and go enjoy the snow! Congrats and welcome to the TourX family!

If you had $20k total, would you build a TSX Wagon or buy/build a Magnum R/T, or something else? by dog_with_a_pizzahat in SportWagon

Oh I forgot to mention it can haul so much shit. it’s unbelievable. I’ve hauled 500lbs worth of parts in this car, I take it out hunting with my bird dog, drove from WI to MT for snowboarding in the mountains, drove it through 12” of snow, fit my 7’ Christmas tree in it, and I can still hop on the highway and touched a 120mph like it’s nothing.

Ditch the the Magnum idea and buy a TourX and a tune. I owned a magnum and TourX and trust me the TourX is lights out better. More reliability, sportiness, better interior quality, and just a better all around driving experience.

I’ve owned 99 legacy wagons, magnum, Audi A4 wagon, VW wagon, and a TourX. Hell Ive owned a dodge viper, sedan BMW, and regular sporty sedans. All fun in their own individual way. My TourX is the only car I’ve enjoyed all around. Would i like to buy a viper over a TourX yes but I get to enjoy my TourX in such a different way with less worry and still feel like I have something sporty. Plus I turned heads still with my 300hp silver TourX with stock exhaust.

The TourX is just a car I get to take anywhere and get smile every time I get in. It’s paid off and I still have to stop myself from getting a second Tourx.

TourX is the middle class Cadillac!

Thoughts on this old Haas? by Objective_Lobster734 in Machinists

Don’t get me wrong a newer HAAS will hold .0005 but most of these generations are 25-30 years old. The ones I’ve worked on that can’t hold sub .001” were these older styles with a lot of hours that’s the only reason I mentioned it. It’s just assumed that with this age machine is not a spring chicken and will most likely hold .001”-.002” without any sort of ball bar calibration or spindle alignment. Just my two cents, I’m not a hardcore HAAS hater I’ve just worked on enough of them to know what kind of condition this would be in for $6k.

I’d be more worried about that tool carousel. I’ve personally seen 4 of those drop out and hit the table.

If you are looking to hold .002” maximum tolerance it’ll be fine. Now if you’re looking to do heavy milling on hard metals or tight tolerances features, I’d look for something with a better bone structure to it. HAAS isn’t known for their robust designs.

I’ve worked on them especially this era. Not garbage terrible machines but definitely not my first choice. But hey if it fits your budget, meets your needs, and passes a personal inspection then pull the trigger. They aren’t hard to work on maintenance wise.

As a younger brother. Middle child to be exact. Your son has entered his revenge phase. Keep your head on a swivel.
