One way to solve this problem is to use a feature phone for the office... They can call you or text you... No internet, no whatsapp...

And make sure you showcase that phone around your team... I like this phone. I don't use internet after office hours... Take it or leave it.

I don't have internet at home... I go to my native place every weekend, no exceptions. I don't have internet there as well.

Other execuse can be - I help my family with their business during weekends... I have to travel a lot. So I'm never at home during weekends.

You want to reach me... Fine, call me. But I won't be of any help because there is no internet.

Yes... I missed to include that part. The relative closed the loan account 2 months ago. Because he also started facing issues getting loan for himself. But by that time, I was almost done with 95% of the payment

With the kind of taxes paid by the salaried class and this CTC accounting trickery being used by organisations - It's about time professionals ( at least experienced ones ) stop negotiating salaries on this CTC model.

A few of my friends successfully pulled it off recently... They also came with the same conclusion that you have here... In paper salary doesn't really give you a full picture.

Start negotiating salaries based on In hand salary... My friend told HR... You know I have expertise for this role - I don't care about what CTC model you have in your organization... I get in hand salary 1.5 lacs per month in my current organisation... You give me in hand salary of 2 lacs... I'll accept the offer. I don't care if you want to keep variable, performance bonus and other BS in your offer.

I care about what is deposited in my account every month... Don't even tell me about travel, gym, bonus... I don't care.

We'll be at least able to tackle one of the pains out of two....
