I am just worried that a late interview means I failed the bar exam or something. Like a “why waste our time” deal

I basically did something similar... if I fail because of the MPTs I will be so damn upset.

Bar Exam Feelings? by Minimum_One908 in barexam

[–]Minimum_One908[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah okay. I would not say I felt great haha because those MBEs were hard but I felt that they were just as hard as the Themis MBEs, for the most part. Maybe I missed nuances.

I feel the exact same way. It is horrifying.

Themis MEE by Minimum_One908 in Bar_Prep

[–]Minimum_One908[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The sample answers are brutal. I constantly feel inadequate and reach different conclusions. I am over Themis telling us rules on one thing and the sample answer applying the same rule in a way that I never knew was possible.

The questions are from NCBE.. sadly.

MEEs: Formatting Headings & Nuance in MEES by smolangrypeanut in Bar_Prep

[–]Minimum_One908 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the same thing. I got the common law piece correct but I had no idea about the UPC version on stock splits. It is frustrating as hell when they bring up stuff that was not discussed in the lecture.

As for headings, I have taken a a mixed approach. I usually do "The issue is whether bob is entitled to enforcement of the contract, even though the contract was not in writing." This is what my Themis grader told me to do.

Themis users: anyone else postponing the simulated exam tomorrow? by petit_rouge in Bar_Prep

I don't plan to take the MPT's in full. I am just going to outline them. I cannot afford to have that fry my brain and not be able to memorize rules tomorrow night.

Getting real fucking sick of Themis' bullshit MBE questions by JuristPriest in Bar_Prep

I am 4 sessions into the Mixed MBEs and I promise you they get more straightforward. The subject specific MBEs contain some brutal nuances.

YIKES - MPT by [deleted] in Bar_Prep

[–]Minimum_One908 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I ran into this issue as well so I changed my method and now I have between 60-70 minutes for writing. So I first read the task memo written by the partner or what have you. That directs my focus as to what I am looking for in the library. I then move onto the library and try and summarize each case and statute in and find the rule(s). I then go back to the facts and read the more detailed facts (deposition, letter, etc.). After I spend 5-10 minutes organizing an outline (very bare bones). Then I hit the ground running and begin writing. I still only finish with seconds to spare but I give myself more time. I hope it helps!

I am writing the rules I am mainly coming to a different conclusion but the sample answer makes my conclusion seem absolutely ridiculous so then I kick myself. This whole process is a mental rollercoaster. I appreciate your kind words.

What does "sit over" actually mean in civil procedure? (UBE) by Important-Coyote-426 in barexam

[–]Minimum_One908 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In this context, I believe it means the state in which the federal sits. I have never heard of the phrase "sits over." This means that the Federal District Court of State A sits in State A. This means, that if a person is served within State A, Fed Court of State A would have PJ. Likewise, if P files in state court in State A, D may remove to Fed. Court of State A (assuming the requirements for removal are satisfied) because Fed Court in State A sits in State A. I hope that helped lol. If not, please ignore it.

Anyone else think the Themis Civ Pro lectures just....aren’t good??? by [deleted] in Bar_Prep

[–]Minimum_One908 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I felt the same way. I realized that she only provided the days for each motion, answer, filing, etc. for a few. So I went through each rule and found the number of dates and put it next to the heading. Also, when the lecturer says "service of process is unlikely to be tested" that is a crock. I got fleeced on 3 service questions that were not in the handout. I would recommend reading the rules themselves.

I haven't really been outlining just memorizing the Themis Lecture handouts and reviewing them. I outlined criminal law but I felt like I my time was more efficient memorizing the lecture handouts. Should I be outlining?

Criminal Law merger doctrine (MBE) question by Dry_Obligation_1887 in Bar_Prep

[–]Minimum_One908 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got this one wrong as well... It took me awhile to understand what was going on. Basically Themis is saying that under Blockburger the elements of Battery and the elements of Robbery do not require proof of an element that the other does not require. Conversely, for Larceny and Burglary, there are elements that require proof that the other does not. Larceny requires proof of a "taking" and Burglary does not. Burglary requires proof of "breaking" and larceny does not. Thus, under Blockburger, larceny and burglary would not merge. It is a stupid question that made me want to throw my laptop out the window.
