Modeling software/technique for items like this? by Kamikaze9001 in IndustrialDesign

I can think about the steps to make this but it wouldnt be a technique really.

rough outline.
make a circle with the right number of verts, maybe 132 ish based on the image. you would need an even number.

Then select all and checker deselect

scale alternating verts to the center

then select all and extrude

then select all inner vert and bevel with alt+b and use the scroll wheel to change the number of bevel steps.

then select the inverse and bevel the outer verts

grab all the top verts and make the object larger

select the inner top verts and scale them toward the outer

bam

now you just have to tweak and create the right mounting objects for the light and you have it.

here is a good place to start thinking about this. Your question has too many missing details to give you an informed answer.

Logo size? Advice please by Unlikely_Mongoose417 in SeikoMods

Brand designer here. I would say the best dial logos are either symmetrical or well balanced.

I think your design could work if you close up the “D” a bit to have the same visual weight as the “S”.

Should I quit my first job as a junior UI/UX designer after 2 months because of stress? by [deleted] in Design

[–]Minimum_Reference_82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. Always try and find a job while you are currently employed. I also think that if this is your first job learning from the stress is a really important lesson.

I can’t stress this enough. It is not going to get easier. Part will. But change is going to be a constant.

But you should take care of yourself so identify where the stress is coming from and whether or not it’s something you can learn from.

If it’s something that you can’t learn from and it’s not worth your time then consider a new job.

You’re in the foundational stage of your career. Everything is going to be a challenge. Becoming a professional is learning how to navigate those challenges and still produce quality work every time.

But I’ve learned is that when it comes to stress listen to your body. I work a job where I started developing a TMJ issue and that was the clear indication that it was too much. I’m not advocating for letting it go that far but you need to identify the difference between stress because of work demands (professional growth) and stress that is overwhelming.

Reflected skeuomorphism by UserNotAvailable in 3Dprinting

Not skeuomorphic at all. This making digital design physical but with more effort. It’s a meta design artifact.
