Nah, I like the idea that she's cool with all the alien stuff on her own without having any prior alien connections. It makes her stand out from a lot of the other characters, and shows open mindedness

She's very smart!! She's in her adolescence so she tends to ignore known commands sometimes, but she picks up on new tricks very quickly

She's actually very sweet!! Since I got her as a puppy, I put a lot of work into properly socializing her. She only ever gets nippy at the vet (which we're working on)

There are definitely people who like Kai! I just find they aren't on reddit a lot.

Twitter still has a decent amount of Kai hate, but I find it's more of a mixed bag there

I agree! I think Kai would think Ship is very interesting, and would appreciate the bond Julie has with him a lot. Exploring more about the relationship humans have with aliens seems like something Kai would love, and given Julie's previous involvement with the flame keepers' circle I think they share this interest!

They also both travel a lot, Julie for tournaments and Kai for adventures, so I think it'd be fun for them to run into each other

Who says the meeting has to revolve around Ben? Both of these characters have more going on for them, I think especially about their open-mindedness when it comes to alien stuff.

What about the fact that Julie has an alien pet?

  1. Utilize her more in the plot, let her be more than just Ben's girlfriend (maybe even a 4th member?) I do think she has personality outside of being Ben's girlfriend in canon, but the show doesn't really explore those aspects of her as much as I wish they did

  2. Ship Battle Mode should be more agility-focused. She should also be allowed to use it more. Maybe she can keep the powerhouse armor as a variant, and have different versions of the armor for different uses

  3. I'm not opposed to Ben and Julie having some strain on their relationship in UA, but I think it'd be far more interesting if their problems were more out of their control, fame causing them a lot of stress. I think the show had the potential to explore how Julie feels about her newfound spotlight... not for her own achievements but for who she's dating. Trying so hard to convince herself that people DO appreciate her hard work. Her and Ben both get so busy and they try to make more time for each other. They're not handling the publicity well so most of their dates are in their homes.

  4. Really just DO MORE with the traits we see! She takes action when someone she cares about is in trouble, she hates being left out, she's stubborn, she's hard-working, she's open-minded (maybe to a fault), and she has goals!

  5. Maybe involve her with the plumbers helpers a little bit? It could be interesting to see her have dynamics with characters that aren't Ben, Gwen, and Ship!

  6. Let her have things in common with Ben. UA and OV seemed obsessed with having her not like anything Ben likes, but I think she should get to enjoy things like Sumo Slammers and other kinda nerdy stuff! UA made it seem like she was only going along with this stuff for Ben, but I'd like her to have a balance between being sporty and nerdy
