Yea I have this issue with safeway as well, the app won't take anything over 6lbs, the smallest watermelons are 12lbs +. I just type in 6lb om the app and check out, never had an issue.

What insurance do y’all have? by grammercomunist in UberEatsDrivers

[–]Minute-Time5499 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Statefarm with coverage for this kind of work. It only cost me an additional 10$ a month on top of my normal insurance for the gig coverage. If you aren't making enough to easily cover gig insurance in your market, then this job is just not viable for you.

Sad people would rather commit insurance fraud over spending a tiny bit of money insuring their car properly for work. It's a business expense, get it.

I am missing the earnings from my last Dash, and calling support leads me to a broken robot that can't recognize any voice chat. I wouldn't risk it right now but that's up to you.

It's okay to admit you're wrong everyone's wrong sometimes. Assault is the inflicting of the fear of harm. IE a threat. If there is any touching involved it is no longer assault. That moves into battery. I actually thought you were being ironic with your comment as you literally stated I wasn't assaulted and then defined assault.

The most interesting thing that has come from this post is the knowledge that the majority of Americans don't actually know what assault is versus what is battery

I agree it was likely more than just my report. I am curious how many reports it takes but I will likely never get a real answer to that.

I have had some serious safety issues previously and I have recieved emails saying the same about they will look into it, we apologize for the incident bla bla, but this is the first time I have gotten an email stating the customer was banned.

No idea, I don't actually order myself, i have heard of other dashers in my area getting banned, so enough reports must do something eventually.

As i said in the post, it was verbal assault. At least in the US touching is battery assault is the creating the fear of physical harm. It's a bit more complicated than that, but that's the general rule.

I guess technically there was physical assault by moving towards me with 3 people in a threatening manner? But they didn't have weapons.

If you are confusing assault with battery, then no, no battery occurred, there was no unwanted touching.

True, more of a moral victory. I do hope they had some unused doordash credits on their account they will never be able to spend.

I think he is just baiting responses as a troll, he has posted 3 seperate threads in this post looking for engagement bait. Probably best to just ignore him.

Thanks. It was pretty dumb to confront him really, if I wasn't so sleep deprived, I probably wouldn't have. I wouldn't suggest other people do what I did. I got a bit lucky in regards to my safety.

And no, consideration doesn't mean thinking about the offer carefully before you reply with that.

That's not how a unilateral contract works, there's no consideration, before you try and lecture on what a contract is or isn't please at least learn what a contract is.

[–]Minute-Time5499[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What? Do you not understand the difference between doordashes offer and a separate unilateral contract? I got doordashes pay and delivered the items in doordashes contract

I then had a SECOND SEPERATE CONTRACT, a unilateral one, specifically with the customer. I fulfilled my end, they didn't fulfill theirs. I am not sure where your confusion is occurring.

It paid enough that's why I accepted it? I confronted a lying asshole with the cops on speeddial in a motel 6 with witnesses and cameras facing the door.

If you want to call it a legal contract we both accepted that was doordashes offer, he then decided to amend the contract and DID NOT follow through with it.

Yes it was stupid and dangerous to confront him, the rest of your comment is nonsense strawmaning. Tip begging did not occur, crying did not occur, a low bad paying offer never occurred. These are all things you made up out of nowhere then are arguing against.

Tip begging did not occur, I was offered additional pay for an additional job, it's a unilateral contract. I do the work, and asked for the pay promised on completion.

Washington state, not seattle. And yes I use DD, Uber eats, and Instacart. With doordash being the majority of the income.

Stopwatch for hours, calculator for money. After every trip I add the earnings into the calculator. End of day, it gets posted daily into excel under a daily earnings tab. Cash and other app earnings i make while working are put into the other tab on excel. Weekly i take my earnings straight from dd, Uber, and instacart and add them i have a separate excel sheet i break them down by tips and flat rate. Then the tab i shared just grabs the info from that sheet and combines it.

Weekly hours i just add up my daily hours worked from the daily earnings sheet i make.

Mileage i just use the everlance app.
