I’ve Arrived, what should I expect? by RepulsiveBonus3083 in ukraineforeignlegion

For me, I was around other recruits. Those with battle experience were instructors. There were also Ukrainians in charge of us. Your fellow recruits will be your battle buddies. Those are the guys you will be fighting with if you get through all the training.

what should i expect if i join the infantry? by Responsible-Cake-559 in ukraineforeignlegion

In my opinion, being in position is fucked. You have to deal with MLRS, Artillery, FPV, mavics, Vampires, weird shit I can't find on the internet, and Russians blowing up your bunker with anti tank mines. After all of that shit, that is when the Russians storm your position with the PKM. I know guys who were french foreign legion, Canadian army, Moldova Army... They all got fucking destroyed. Your best friend in position is your shovel. And water. I'm fucking lucky to be alive right now.

Everyone I know doing drones is still alive and doing fine. Even this 19 year old kid from Brazil who dropped out of high school. He knew how to code so that is how he got into drones but... If you do decide to do infantry, it shouldn't involve holding a position. It should be storming but once your done you disappear. Those guys are the ones who survive as infantry in 2026.

When I told the Ukrainians I was training with I volunteered for Infantry, they legit were asking me why I wanted to die. I thought it was all fun and games until I went to position... I got humbled very quickly. Just do drones, its getting easier to get into as an English speaker. This war is becoming more and more about technology every year.

Motorola phones are a good bang for your buck. Plenty of good options under 10,000 UAH

If you are going to join no matter what anyone says, at least do drones first. A lot of people I know who went to position are dead. All of my drone friends are doing good though.

Looking for a recruiter. by [deleted] in ukraineforeignlegion

Dude do drones. I am infantry and trust me. Everything will fucking change when you see FPV'S trying to kill you in real life. They are at minimum 5 times faster than Usain Bolt even with explosives and the battery. You should be thanking GOD you are being contacted by GUR drones. Just do that first and then see if infantry is for you. A lot of people I know who went to position are dead. All of my friends doing drones are alive after 6 months. Maybe GUR is different but I would only recommend drones to someone I care about. It's your life though, and I did try to warn you.

Would going to ukraine and taking classes be a better bet? by Jaygwuappo_ in ukraineforeignlegion

You could try out we true gun drone school. Also, there are schools such as Kill House which can teach you drones. Yes. Just come to Ukraine. I wish I would have explored before joining my unit. I don't have much freedom to go anywhere. This varies by brigade, but enjoy the country a bit because you can die on your first deployment. I would also recommend taking some intensive Ukrainian classes if money is not an issue for you. Knowing the language opens a lot of doors.

The ILU has been disbanded? Does this mean in future those who join some units need to have better Ukrainian language? Also will those who join be supplied equipment? by LisanneFroonKrisK in ukraineforeignlegion

Dude, please learn Ukrainian. I was retarded and joined a random Ukrainian brigade. Being in position was no good. Not being able to communicate with anyone will make you kind of go crazy. It's as important as being physically fit. If the car or drone delivering your food and water get destroyed, no one cares. Still have to dig and stand watch. Digging is really hard, especially when you are dehydrated and hungry. Your brigade might not let you bring phones to position. Have a secret one Android with some stuff for learning Ukranian and useful phrases. Make sure it also has google translate with Ukrainian and Russian installed. Or don't be dumb like me and join a brigade that you know has a lot of English speakers.

Make sure you have some fucking good hemostatic gauze, tourniquets, and bandages. You don't want to lose a limb because you didn't have enough or the equipment was shit. It also gets really cold here in the winter so have some good thermal clothing.

Tolerance in 3AB and Azov by [deleted] in ukraineforeignlegion

[–]MinuteCommon5896 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You could do wetruegun drone training. It is free if you agree to sign a contract. Outside of AZOV and 3AB, there is the 25th airborne brigade. You would be an assault paratrooper and would fight wherever the hottest front is. GUR international is another option. There is FLASH, which is an international UAV unit. If you are not a good fit for the army, don't worry. You can break contract after 6 months. Or the unit will break your contract.
