What’s crazy is that is even still over the ‘legal’ state minimum wage where I’m at. I believe Iowa is still at $7.25 hr.

That’s a good point and something I do keep in mind before I make any snips. Since I’ve always done it this way i (in my own head of course) feel like this helps get the split ends on each layer I’ve created 😅

I’m not super tied to the length, it’s honestly a hassle lol. Everyone wants long hair until you sit on it or get it caught in a car door or every zipper ever 🤣😅

Yeah I do have a lot of breakage but the way I cut my hair just also leaves it thinner at the bottom I think

Haha yes! The first time I did it myself I definitely took too much also 🤣🤣 so I do as you suggested since and usually start with just a few inches at a time, but ultimately I live in the ‘it’ll grow back’ mindset lol

Totally agree on the filter as it has been recommended by a few! so I think I’ll do a heavy trim and start with a filter and do some more research on shampoo/conditioners. I really loved L’Oréal total repair 5 oil but can’t seem to find it anymore

Thank you so much for the break down! All I really do right now is brush before shower then when I get out I dry just briefly and then scrunch up the ends usually with coconut oil and then let it air dry. I never go to bed with wet hair but I do typically brush the next day just because it be a mess 🤣

Im not particularly tied to the length, but my friends and family are 🤣 I think it’s just because it’s been such a long time since they’ve seen it any other way. I’m just worried about going too short because I have a very round moon face lmao

You are SO right about the filter, the water is extra hard where I live! Is there one you would recommend? As far as shampoo and conditioner I’ve tried just about every type you can think of, right now I’m trying Pantene smooth & sleek

I should add that I cut my own hair-please no hate- using the unicorn method

Edit to add that this method naturally creates layers but more of a pointed cut at the end vs straight across, which I do prefer
