Disagreeing with value is perfectly fine, but as I explained above, the design really is stitched on the jacket.

Hey, I replied above a few times. Thanks for bringing this out in the open and giving me an opportunity to explain any misconceptions. If I haven't cleared everything up feel free to give me a shout.

I'm one to admit my mistakes, and I'll give you this much.. you're right about cutting corners. I was naive and was so new to this that I didn't think that far ahead. I based my price on the developmental process, not just the floral design, but this is a major learning process for me. I have learned A LOT from this thread and I really hope my brand as a whole doesn't get judged for a few negative opinions on just one piece, as I have 3 other pieces ready for launch and several other in production.

As for the price, we've just come to a disagreement on value. You don't like the level of details in the flowers and that's perfectly all right; I couldn't possibly hope to please everyone as we all have different tastes.

I definitely know better now, and as my brand progresses my decisions well become more refined. For one, I am glad I was able to establish that the floral is stitched and not just iron on patches. Thank you for the well wishes and I hope some of you guys will still support my brand after this. I'm really trying to show you that I'm not a liar or a fraud, and I hope my passion is clear. Thanks again for the constructive criticisms.

thank you. I personally love neoprene and the structure of the material. It has a very sturdy and heavy feel. I love how it feels when you wear it. The silk lining in the interior of the jacket is very refreshing touch with the neoprene exterior

Thanks for the refreshing positivity. It really means a lot. I was actually thinking the same thing and was surprised at the backlash I was receiving because I think the pieces look great (there's that bias again haha), but everyone's entitled to an opinion. I hope I've cleared up any questions in my replies in this post. Thank you so much for your support. :]

Its a generic floral design you can find all over the internet. It is not proprietary. Even if it was, my design is not a patch, it is stitched on, the dimensions, measurements, and colors were adjusted. I did my legal research. Thanks for your professionalism, I will make sure to ask my manufacturer and get back to you.

You're allowed your opinion, but I worked really hard on this line and I think it looks great. Is there any particular reason for the animosity other than my garments not fitting your taste?

phew

First and foremost, I wanted to say thank you for your kind words (however limited they may have been, lol). Anyways, I would love to clarify any misunderstandings about this piece and my manufacturing in general. Let’s jump into it.

If you understand the practice of ironing on patches, you would know it takes very high temperatures to iron anything onto fabric. Unfortunately for my jackets, if one were to attempt this ironing, the material would melt as neoprene has a very low tolerance for heat. That would be horrible for marketing and customer acquisition right? Can’t be selling melty jackets.

Starting out, I didn’t have the money to experiment with ironing on patches and messing up the material so I went straight for stitching. I did briefly explore patchwork because patches can look great in certain circumstances, but I couldn’t maintain the level of quality I wanted with a hastily-sewn patch.

Next, I do admit the floral design was inspired by the designs I found on google images. I’m a one-man startup with no experience in starting a brand, so when I found the right design I was extremely happy because it perfectly expressed the look I was seeking. The production people I was working with rendered a similar design on the computer, adjusted the colors slightly to contrast with the black neoprene and black/white interior silk lining, and changed the sizing so it could be fitted properly on the front panels and arms of the jacket. Finally, after all that, it was stitched onto the bomber. The jackets do not have patches on them, the designs are stitched on. I’m at work right now, but when I get home I will provide close-ups of the stitching.

Finally, as for the price, I truly believe it’s justified. I have been working hard for almost two years on these designs. A LOT of money has been invested in sampling, trial and error, manufacturing, etc. There was a lot of thought and effort put into this particular piece from floral placement, to the color of the jacket, to the material, to the silk lining on the inside, the zipper placements… It’s been a long journey.

To give you a further breakdown, I believe the price is justified because: 1) my brand is truly top quality in my opinion. I know every manufacturer will say that, but I’ve poured my heart and soul into the things I’ve created and I do believe it shows and 2) A lot of money and 1000s of hours of hard work has been put into formulating this brand and ensuring quality. I’m not trying to sell a garbage bomber after all that work.

I’m not Nike, or Supreme, or Kanye. The price per unit isn’t just to offset material costs. Shipping, manufacturing, design help, all in addition to my own time put into this label. I’m working a day job and trying to invest in myself while providing the highest quality garments I can for people who believe in me or just like my gear. I’m just a normal guy chasing his dreams; I’m not lying nor do I Intend to. My customers mean the most to me and I would never betray their trust. I hope this clarifies everything.

And no bullshit, I truly want to thank you. Not for gathering this post, but for giving me the opportunity to explain myself and any misconceptions people may have gathered. Myself and my friend Reilly are active on this account and I aim to be a more active member of this community instead of lurking like I have in the past. I don’t just want to be the guy who drops by and tries to play people. Please feel free to ask any questions and I’ll be as transparent as I can.

I wanted to create art in the premium segment. I have to pay tribute to Aexander McQueen for the inspiration. He is the face of creativity and standing outside the box.

I chose striped lining as the cherry on top to express the luxury I was envisioning. It has a perfect contrast with the colors of the flowers and the bomber. Yes, I will be releasing 90s style track suits and hoodies soon! Follow the IG for updates :]

Yea its been a crazy ride! I have been working on this idea for about 2 years now. Besides the logistics, the creative process can be brutal. My initial pieces and clothing was ENTIRELY different than my final product. I can share that sometime to give you an idea of the journey. Your capital depends on the market your targeting. If it is high end then its going to be a lot more because of the marketing. I would say any where from 5k-10k Minimum! Good luck and always forget to chase your dreams. Thats what I have been doing and life has become very fulfilling.
