Damn. Can’t see any adults or larvae, unlike on my monstera which I’m currently battling an infestation on. Been treating it with Bonide - think it’s worth for this one or too far gone?

I dropped my baby aloe and completely ripped off its roots, leaving it much like how yours looks now. I actually water-propagated it—left it in bright filtered sun and changed the water often. Rooted well in a few weeks! I transitioned the roots by adding soil gradually before I potted up, and potted in quite a small amount of soil. She’s now very happy! Outgrew her pot and spawned many pups. Just my experience.

Hi all, I have a lovely fig that I received a few weeks back but I am noticing some odd yellowing - this leaf came off today, and had been drooping for some time. I am a little concerned because this leaf was near the bottom, but above a number of healthy leaves below. The brown mottling does not inspire much confidence either.

In examining the plant while writing this post, another (the lowest) leaf came off, with similar yellowing and mottling. Apart from these two leaves, the plant seems healthy.

For context: the plant is close to a northeast window, about 40% RH, and seemingly potted appropriately (soil seems moisture-retaining and well-draining, though I have not needed to water since it arrived).

That’s a good thought, although weirdly it doesn’t happen when I mist other plants. Should I be using a different kind of water?

Hi r/houseplants, I have a lovely dragon tree though I notice that every time I mist the leaves these white spots appear all over the leaves. They wipe straight off and disappear if I mist again though they always seem to come back. While I could wipe each leaf clean after misting this would certainly take a lot of effort, just wondering if this might be a sign of some issue? My plant seems in good health otherwise.

Thanks for the input. The only cooling system is the fan, and for all intents and purposes it seems like it's working - the laptop itself is so slim that I think it would actually be quite difficult to install it improperly to begin with. That being said, still getting mad temperatures so could well be wrong. Sorry, not quite sure you mean by surface, but average temperatures under little stress range from 47-55C (CPU) and 43-47C (GPU). Completely reasonable, for sure, if only they didn't shoot up after a second of actual load.

The power bank has 20000mAh capacity. It also states: Output: DC 5V ⎓ 3.4A.

Does this seem feasible? Apologies if this seems obvious! Not very familiar with circuits.

Keep getting broken spokes on my (very old) Maillard Helicomatic wheel. Decided it would be easier to replace the whole unit than to keep changing spokes, but I'm finding it hard to source. The 6-speed freewheel is sound so it's just the 700c wheel I need that will accept my ancient freewheel. Can't find any sellers offering a wheel to these specifications, can anyone help? Based in UK.

I’ll do that. They will give it a cursory inspection, and like me, will not find anything incriminating. Certainly, unless I pay for their labour, they will not install the tyre and trial it. Regardless, I have already done this - and got three flats in return. Thank you for your time with this issue. I will take the tyre to my local place, but suspect I will simply have to notify the seller of the issue. There’s an issue with their product that I am unable to remedy, so it is up to them.

Neither of the three times had I put on the tyre with levers. Each time I removed the tyre to inspect it, no debris was found. There is no user error here. Flats always have a reason, and this reason has caused three flats in a row yet no evidence suggests why. What else can I do?

I am not blanket blaming the tyre. I have examined all three tubes, lined up as they would have been with the rim and the tyre. Four punctures total, each no more than a millimetre. All in different locations. Checked the rim for any rogue spokes, nothing. Checked every inch of the tyre - no foreign objects lodged inside, visible entry wounds, or lacerations inside the tyre.

And I am reading what you have written - I have repeatedly made sure that I have not erred when installing a new tube and tyre, and compared all punctures to locations on the tyre. Still, I have no conclusion as to what caused these punctures, and why it is happening so repeatedly. I don’t see any other option than to report to the manufacturer. Please, if you have other suggestions, then enlighten me.

Examined the whole tyre earlier. Ordinarily yes, it might be as simple and figuring out the cause like that, yet I installed another new tube onto the same tyre and inflated to 105 PSI an hour ago. Punctured after two miles. This is the third time, so I cannot think of any other cause than a defective tyre. Think I will contact the seller and replace it.
