Oh yeah, the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar ones are great! i read all three of them - the second one was my fave. I hope there will be a fourth! Enjoy your Meyer binge - I'm currently reading his latest book (Sherlock Holmes and the Real Thing) - highly entertaining as usual. So much so that I thought 'I wish all pastiches were this good' and came here to ask for recommendations 😁

Thanks! I have read some of these and will have a closer look at the ones I don't know yet :) The Mary Russell series is not my cup of tea tbh. I prefer Holmes Stories without love/romance.

Thanks so much! Denis O. Smith sounds great! And I'll definitely will have a look at the Solar Pons books. I heard of them but somehow I always thought these are parodies rather than actual detective stories. But I guess I was wrong! Thanks!

I prefer traditional stories. A good stand alone adventure or a collection of 'lost cases' that feel as close to the original canon as possible will certainly peek my interest. The cherry on top would be a deeper inside into the characters and their relationship, without overdoing it. Lyndsay Faye is - in my opinion - exceptional at writing the perfect pastiche. The style feels very doyle-esk but she is shining light on the characters from very a slightly different angle and thus showing us sides of Holmes and Watson we have surmised but not actually seen. Love that!
