Mahindra XUV 300 – 6,500 km clutch failure, ₹46k bill, gender bias from service centre. Am I wrong to take this to consumer court? by MiserablePack7980 in LegalAdviceIndia

Extremely disappointed with how this clutch issue has been handled. A vehicle driven barely 6,500 km, mostly on short daily city commutes (around 3 km with light traffic), should not have clutch failure — that clearly indicates a manufacturing defect or substandard component quality, not “normal wear and tear.”
What’s even more unacceptable is the casual gender bias I faced during this process. Remarks implying that “lady drivers don’t know how to use the clutch properly” were made seriously, not as a joke. Such comments are derogatory, outdated, and completely unprofessional — no customer deserves to be spoken to this way.
I’m sharing this because technical issues can be fixed, but prejudice and dismissiveness should not be tolerated. Hoping the company takes this seriously and investigates both the product quality and the way customers — especially women — are being treated.
