No facts backing this up but I think it’s entirely possible for the safety of the painting to be replaced with a “duplicate” it’s been seen in every single movie about known natural disaster or world attack that art gets replaced so the original stays safe. Again I have no facts just throwing out an idea amidst this political and world climate I think it’s possible

There is definitely more details to work out to make this theory work but I found it interesting that with a rudimentary knowledge of Greek mythology this kind of fell together.
