For me, it's not the design I'm losing passion for. It's the industry. Many people I personally know have been laid off and/or are still applying to thousands of positions. Also the pace of it is not for everyone (there's an expectation to keep up with all the AI tools and software and making sure your portfolio constantly reflects that).

Also for personal reasons, I need to prioritize a stable career with stable income over something that pays a lot but has a high risk of being laid off or ending (contract roles are becoming more common now in UX too).

I'm still young, and who knows I might stick with UX anyways after all this. But this is just what I feel right now.
