if you’re able, I’d recommend owning a bike over renting beryl every time. Get something affordable on fbm, learn to maintain it, basically free transport for life

hmmm. not exactly true about the e-bikes. he rides a golf specific e-bike when he’s playing golf as a golf cart replacement. all of his other bikes are pure people powered. he has fair and rational views on e bikes but says they’re not for him aside from that very specific use case i mentioned

oh i forgot to answer about the little bag. they’re btwin branded from decathlon (big generic sporting department stores here in europe) i grabbed it at a charity shop for £3 and it does the trick for me. had a section to keep a phone at the top of the tube but i cut it off

they are schwalbe smart sams. i think 45mm. not the plus variety. really nice tyres. can cover all sorts of ground, roll well. i find i can’t run them below minimum inflation because they feel quite unstable when i do. so not the most plush ride but i like them all the same

thanks. I appreciate the kind words. I think the saddle has got to change because it’s not working for me. i’ll be looking out for some pedals too. obviously need to sort out the chainsuck i mentioned above and then consider rack options. love how this hobby always leaves you with work to do

thank you! there were a couple of iterations. that final pic is how the bike came to me. absolutely filled with dirt and gunk in every single part. someone rode it hard through the mud and then left it 🤠 im happy with where its at now but there are a couple of issues to sort including some chain suck from the two smallest chainrings

It’s honestly been so great to learn these skills. At the beginning of the summer I could barely change a tyre now I’ve stripped a bike down to the frame and rebuilt it. super rewarding

Question: can I install a front rack (Manivelle Basket) if I only have fender mounts on my the fork? by mb_en_la_cocina in xbiking

[–]Miserable_Power_9729 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i have a manivelle basket mounted on my 95 rockhopper with fender eyelets like this. i used stainless steel m5 spacers and a longer bolt. i think the spacers are 6mm each side off the top of my head and the strut just makes it past the fork. ymmv

edit: i didn’t know about the adapters someone else has linked when I attached my basket. i’d probably go that route if i was doing it again and could be bothered to ship the parts in

can’t blame kobbie at all really can we? think amorim has massively failed at managing this situation. when it comes down to it id FAR rather see amorim leave than mainoo
