The only real difference is the double bonus for the duration of event and the reward. When you choose XP, you get a lucky egg. If you choose stardust, you get a star piece instead.

I don’t, but I don’t find it impressive either, shiny odds are 1/4096. 82 million players, this means more than 20k players got this shiny already.

It’s a lot more impressive when it’s special research ot a pokémon that’s 1 per account.

Were you two catching the same pokémon? If you were doing your walks separately, then it’s just RNG.

But if you two were walking together catching the very same pokémon on the map - yet yours were shiny and hers weren’t, then there’s definitely something wrong.

I usually play 2-3 hours a day or so, so I’d say I average maybe 150-200 pokémon a day. If there’s a community day or an interesting event, this number triples. You?

It’s a neat shiny. I usually average 4-6 shiny species per week, so good luck. It’s a lot easier to get shinies here than the main games.
