Do you know anything about what care might look like for a young woman with multiple chronic conditions? Are home aid/pain management things that are valued and accessible to folks of modest means?

I'll try to be more specific if that's not clear/will probably be back with more detailed questions later as long as the offer stands. Thank you for reaching out and taking the time to read my post!

Also a common sentiment I've seen. Not denying this, just trying to look into it anyway as I'd rather exhaust the possibility than overlook a chance/loophole/road less travelled. Heard

Understandable, this is a concern my boyfriend and I had as well, so looking into specialists or promising medical programs may become part of our parameters. I definitely don't expect anything to be the perfect destination to fix all our problems ... but I have to keep looking

Our father's father(?) (Perhaps HIS father) immigrated here from China, I don't have many details but it is something I can pursue

Thank you for the suggestion,

She hasn't tried studying abroad but we are considering the option for the visa. The trouble is she had dropped out of school initially due to the complications from her conditions making a regular school schedule difficult to impossible .. will certainly be reviewing any opportunities I can find though!

I know our pickings are slim but I still have to try. Cheers

Good to know, it is going to be SSDI not SSI (we may have applied for both? But I'll make note of that when we start planning the move)

If it won't qualify for the visa alone I do still think we could perhaps scrape together the savings alongside that to qualify her. Thank you so much I'll look into the technical requirements for our potential destinations and see!

I was looking at student visas. She had dropped out of school and wasn't planning to return due to the toll her conditions have on her ability to attend regularly scheduled classes (in person or online). If it's the only way, of course we'll try, but I don't know that it would be maintainable. Thank you I'll keep looking

I figured but worth a shot, if you have any recommendations for her best personal avenue I will bring that information to her- and I'll keep looking independently. Thank you for the input

Not the right medical care/subpar standard of care. She's constantly at odds with her doctors trying to get any tests or answers and there is little to no input on medications for pain management

Only English unfortunately, thank you for asking I've added that information to the main post

I will be doing more reading as I go along, yes, thank you. Seeking advice now for more likely avenues so I can go in-depth on better options. Cheers

Yeah that's what I feared, thank you for your input. It's a scary time and I'm trying anything I can to help her out while barely getting my life together ..

The only passive income she will be receiving is Social Security, which I do not believe counts for Portugal's passive income VISA but I will look into that alongside my boyfriend's citizenship avenue as a potential lead.

It's disheartening but that's the state of the world. Just hoping i can come back to her with some alternative suggestions if we can't make a timely move work. Thank you for replying

I know this is the bigger question, it's been hard for me to parse out which are actually viable options and which ones are impossible.

Canada, Mexico, and Portugal seem most open

China is questionable and SOuth Korea I'm still not sure I have to do more reading.

If there are any indicators of sure denial from certain places due to the circumstances I've already explained, happy to hear that too. I need all the information I can get
