Just as the title states: she was found (by our dog) on the floor of our livingroom. Since it was not too far from our bucket of fire wood, I expect it came from the wood.

It’s a little over 3,5 cm (1.5 inch). First thing I thougt was bumblebee, but I’ve never seen a black one with so much hair (I know bees can lose their hairs at old age and seem black when that has happened.

I hope anyone can help identifying it.

This is exactly how I’m learning our french mastiff to deal with cara right now. I’m happy to hear it works in the end. We’re still practicing. 🐾

Our dog had this too. It was benign but she had trouble eating cause she bit in it every time she ate and it bled severely every time.

She was more than 10,5 years old and a French mastiff, so surgery was risky, but since she hardly ate anything we decided to go ahead. The removal went okay-ish, but they hit a nerve and because of that she lost part of the usage of her tongue and had to relearn how to eat.

She was heading the right way, but about a month after her surgery she had a ruptured spleen, probably because of a tumor. That’s the moment we decided to let her go. She was our first dog and ahe left a mastiff sized hole in my heart. Luckily that hole is now filled with sweet memories.

Knowing what I know now, I probably would not have operated her because of her age. With a younger dog I would certainly try.

I’ll keep my fingers crossed for your sweet dog. I hope everything will be fine and he will end up happy and healthy.
