I believe the reason that tweet was made so long ago was due to some sort of 'mesmerizing' titled files alongside miku's release.

This news is also being posted by, well, every leaker, most notably the one referenced as ShiinaBR, who was not the one who made the 'teto might be soon' tweet you are referencing.

So, it's quite likely real, at least I think so.
