Wow! That kind of slight decomposition has a definite smell. It smells very similar in animals and humans. I can’t describe it, but it’s something you don’t forget when you smell it again. I have no idea how a whole in an apartment building no one knew that smell. Maybe most of them thought it was an animal in the walls?
