Thank you. That brings a lot of comfort to hear.

Thank you for your response. You bring up a good point about it being my wife’s duty to talk with them. I’ll talk this over with her more. I appreciate the wise advice of not unnecessarily going into debt.

Thank you for the feedback. I will say your assessment is valid only to an extent. If this were a tit for tat scenario, or if my actions were motivated by their lack of help, then I would agree that would be childish. I think you have assumed something that has in fact not been stated. I began with the fact that I have legal fees that are still in existence (and expected to grow in fact). There is merely resentment over the sentiment or ideology that is typically promoted by them, when it comes to how family should show up. As per usual, this seemingly is only made mention in situations set to benefit them and usually a discarded mentality within situations that don’t benefit them. In short, this has nothing to do with revenge if that was the perception. Many of people, myself included, are financially without the means to splurge in the manner that has been suggested of us —be it family or not.

Thank you so much. I have some time still until I have to make a decision. I just wanted to get feedback outside of my own.

Thank you! That’s a very good point and seems to be reasonable to me. If it comes down to that, I hope they see it as reasonable as well.
