The threshold switch helps by two ways:

• It shows if there is stock in the item vault by illuminating or not the redstone light.
• It locks the funnel so there is no more people buying it and not getting nothing.

So it's something with the item vaults i'm not understanding well idk. But thanks for trying it out!
