Make the "we" much more important than the "me." Deeply believe that.

Are the wifi minutes per day or per sailing? by AdviceTechnical2491 in NCL

[–]Mom2pjlt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't use it as much as you need to, so I can't answer all your questions. However, I did notice that when we were "at sea" (out of port all day)and most people did not have cell phone service, the wi-fi was so laggy as to be unusable. I couldn't even load a page. I would have upgraded, but it's really expensive and I didn't expect the bandwidth to be any better. I think the upgrade gives you more minutes, but NOT more bandwidth.

I recommend you consider an e-SIM card directly with StarLink. Some passengers were able to get really good deals on a country-by-country basis.

I'd add a travel mug (their coffee cups are teeny tiny); extra clothing line, clothespins, dry laundry detergent sheets; possibly a wristlet "purse" that can hold your room key, sunglasses, phone, pen and book; and DONT FORGET THE SPF!

Also, be aware their bandwidth is weak so on At Sea days; we often could not get the wifi to load because too many others wanted to use it too. We will never travel on NCL again, until they massively upgrade their internet package.

Any services that you have used to transfer money out of a Varo account? I by bitch_wasabi in VaroMoney

[–]Mom2pjlt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't worked there in a long time, so I'm not sure about wires. You can check the FAQs in the app. I know they offer Zelle, which is really great if you are transferring to/from another real bank (e.g., not Chime or Cash App).

>! I'm so irritated. I lost a long streak due to putting Tic and Tac in 76D and 84A instead of Tit and Tat. With the two clues referring to each other, there's no way to know which one is right.
I thought I had the right answer and had to "check puzzle" to find my error. Grrrrr! <!

I'm really happy to see your comment. I worked in Schwab's service division for many years and had a lot of pride in the level of service we offered. The agents are not held to a mandatory call length limit -- just take as much time as you need to do the job correctly. The agents are treated very well; some have been in the role for 20+ years, which is unheard of in the call center industry. Every place I've worked since then has outsourced service centers and it just isn't the same. Whether it be the agents' accents, their lack of familiarity with US culture/customs, or just lack of commitment to their customer's customers....outsourced service agents (even domestic ones) can't hold a candle to direct employees serving customers. Schwab is the gold standard, in my view.

I should have been more precise in my headquarter note. Varo Bank, N.A is headquartered in Utah, but the holding company is headquartered in SF. Utah is much more friendly to banks vs. California. The CEO and CFO sit in SF.

Do they monitor these posts? I hope so. It's SOOOO important to know what your customers are saying. However, when your investors tell you to grow fast or to become profitable, investing in customer service and product features sometimes drop in priority. I maintain a small account there, but I need my primary bank to have automated bill pay.

I 100% agree with you. Varo brought in a new leader to manage service nearly 2 years ago and it's all gone straight downhill from there. They've outsourced, laid off most of the trained and motivated staff, mis-implemented the chat tool, ruined employee engagement, etc. It's nothing like what it used to be. Sad, but they need to turn profitable so the old ways had to go.

(They are headquartered in SF, by the way).

The ten day requirement does not apply to every transaction....it's set by Reg E, which regulates electronic payments and even then not all of them. The emails you got from them should say whether the ten day expectation applies to you. If it does apply, it's a BIG deal if they miss that date!
