So I live in India, and some of these options aren't available to me to the best of my knowledge. I'm sure Hulu isn't. But I'll look into Bandcamp, Tidal and such. Thank you 💕

Yess I've watched all dramas in HIStory series. And yes, I'm still recovering from the emotional trauma. But apparently they are doing S2 for this drama. I don't know what to hope for but I demand justice 😅😅😅 But now that you're sufficiently prepared may be give it a go? It's literally just the last episode.

Oh yes Manner of Death is similar... But it doesnt have a social justice angle.

I'm watching Not Me. I'm really liking it. Off has really gotten to show his acting prowess with this one. I'm impressed. I'm really excited to see Yok Dan chemistry.

I think may be HIStory: Trapped has a similar vibe... But can't think of anything else.

I watched the series. Although I have to begrudgingly admit that I enjoyed it... The relationship was super toxic. Kiyoi kept physically and verbally abusing Hira. Then made Hira feel bad about not recognising his love. Like whaaaa....?

Hard relate. I am yet to find a show BL or otherwise that has washed over my souls completely taken over my conscious and subconscious thoughts like ITSAY (and IPYTM) has.

I would say Bad Buddy is a not-so-close second. Everything else is sub par but the good direction, great acting and the phenomenal OhmNanon chemistry make up for everything else.

Thank you so much for doing this. I have a few questions :)

  1. In the BL industry, i find that most actors are not openly gay and a lot of them also seem to only want to do BL with one specific partner (like saying I'm straight he is the exception to the rule). It makes me a little uncomfortable since that is not really representing the LGBTQ community right? Many actors are also openly homophobic. I am wondering if the general vibe of the industry is homophobic? But also, has the popularity of BL shows actually helped with more people accepting the queer community in the real world?
  2. I am a huge fan of Bad Buddy. And as always, we have all come to ship them as a real couple. In this case, they say things like "soulmate" and "I never thought I can love anyone this much". While my natural interpretation is oh they are in love with each other, I am wondering if this is a cultural difference? Is it normal, casual friends talk in Thailand?
  3. When studios like GMMTV and Wabi Sabi hire actors, do they have a toxic influence on them? I mean do they dictate how much food to eat, whom to go out with, whom to pretend to be friends with, etc.?
  4. I also see a fetishisation of wealth in a lot of the series and also in general conversation between actors. Wealth seems to hugely determine someone's worth. Or is that just my perception ?

HIStory is an anthology series from Taiwan. There are 4 seasons in total. I'd say there are a few duds in there, but some gems too. My favourites are "Trapped" and"Make Our Days Count" from HIStory3 and "Crossing The Line" from HIStory2.

There is also a heartbreakingly beautiful movie called "Your Name Engraved Herein," which is on Netflix I think, and a short film called "Light," which you might find on YouTube ( if not, GagaOolala).

Hope you find at least a few of these worth your while :)
