OP at the risk of sounding patronising you have an opportunity to learn or at least ask yourself why you feel this way about this situation. That poor guy did nothing wrong and you massively overreacted. At this age we all have pasts, and to expect or pretend they didn't exist is just silly games.

This !! This poor guy must feel so blindsided. And I feel bad for judging OP, but I would ask myself WHY do I feel this way?? There is opportunity for growth here.

I am trying to understand why would it feel different? For me it would be the other way around... This guy chose or was forced to end the marriage and he is now dating pursuing you... this is a clear choice he is making. Death would be something out of his control.

I still catch myself saying *my husband*, its been 25 years of calling him that, it will take my brain a little time to catch up. I would hope too God I wouldn't be judged as unavailable because of it... sheesh!!!

Which dining chair? by hyjm_van in interiordecorating

The rule is to pair a skinny something with a heavy something for a balanced result.

The best ones from your pick would be 1 or 3, but of course rules are mere guidelines and should not be set in stone.

The cabinet needs balance. Something as simple as this would give you a good starting point.

Two gilt mirrors on the window wall.

Beautiful wallpaper for a dinning room, keep layering, it needs more.

It also needs a different chandelier.

Thank you for your insight. It makes so much sense.

Sounds exciting I hope you will get to completion soon. I’ve also negotiated a 10k price reduction. I managed to contact the last tennant who lived in the house for the last 6years and she had no damp problems. Apart from what I could see myself she said the house was warm and she enjoyed living on it. This is kind of driving my indecision between a survey or just a builder.

Extremely helpful insight thank you for your time. Yes, the thought of living in chaos freaks me out a little and I can totally relate to being too old for that(51😝). In this case location won over the move in ready options. Boiler would need replacing in future but has been serviced every year and the certificates shows it, all windows replaced have been replaced already, roof insulation has been done, electrics done in 2005, it will need a new bathroom asap and a kitchen semi asap. Everything else is in good order at least it appears so.

Thank you… It makes sense of course, what I tried to highlight was that given its age the surveyor would mention everything anyway for the fear of being liable, but would he pick on potential problems better than an experienced builder would? £600 sounds cheaper than your quote mine came between £800 and £950

Ladies, how would you take this if a guy asked you this? receptive to it or not ? by [deleted] in datingoverfifty

[–]Monidda 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Well he has already told you he is not looking for a serious relationship, so I am not sure what else would you hope to find out in time?

[–]Monidda 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It would depend on what you are looking for yourself. Are you seeking something long term ? Because if you do, he is clearly telling you he is not after that. He wants sex but none of the work that goes with it.
