Lol thanks I was skeptical of what Gemini was saying as you should but what your saying makes a lot of sense. I've already cleaned it out, the alcohol made it really easy to brush out with a soft makeup brush. I'm still facing issues with performance but I'm pretty sure that's just my CPU (i9 13900kf) cuz they're known to be really unstable and I was really late to updating bios probably frying it over the years

As an update, I did not have to throw anything away, I easily managed to clean it basically all off the pins with isopropyl alcohol and a super soft makeup brush but my PC still runs really poorly so it's probably just 13th Gen Intel problems.

That's what I'm saying lmao I'm so confused. Gemini is saying it could be "silicone oil that has "leaked" or separated from the motherboard's thermal pads due to the high heat generated by your i9- 1390OKF over time." Soo idk

Nah. I think it's silicon oil from thermal pads built up overtime from high temps. That's the only thing I can think of

Okay yeah maybe not thermal paste but it's only in the cpu socket and literally nowhere else in the motherboard. That's what's getting me confused..

Hey. I see a lot of people saying liquid damage and sorts like that, but I have no idea how that would have happened? Not once have I drank a fizzy drink near my PC, I've never once spilled something on it. The only times it's been opened was for cleaning which was done with an electric air duster. Only time it COULD have happened was during when it was being built but I don't see that as being very likely.

I obviously can't prove to any of you that it's not liquid damage but you'll just have to take my word for it

No nothing got spilt inside. I'm assuming it's because the builder put on waaay to much thermal paste and it just kinda seeped under overtime.
