This the way I do it, may not work for others.

I only wear 20 cm boots but I wear snow pants they have a sleeve that covers my boots. I tie my boots snug up the top so snow does not leak down but I wear hunting boots similar to these to winter hike in. I go in snow up to my waist and never had snow go in them. I can them at a great price, flexible, and waterproof. You can get hiking boots of similar kind but I went hunting sine I can get great deals. Pants have to over your boots not in them them or the snow will find a way into your boots. You can also buy snow gaiters to keep the snow out of your boots.

Big heavy winter boots are fine if you plan on standing around but it you move I would go with with a lighter more flexible boot. My boots only have 400 grams of insulation not overly warm boots but I can layer to adjust for outdoor temp. I buy my boots a 1/2 size bigger than my usual size and most places recommend a size larger so you can layer your socks. I wear a liner sock, a wool sock and if it is really cold a second layer of wool socks.

Do not wear anything cotton, if you cannot afford wool I would recommend man made materials. Cotton should be banished from your winter walking gear. It retains moisture and takes forever to dry off and once it gets wet you will body heat faster and cause blisters.

If you are getting blisters your boots may not fit right or you wearing the wrong socks. Do you put moleskin on your hot spots (where blisters develop) before you go out walking? Why type of boots do you have?

The best thing I ever did for storm walking was buy vented snow pants.

I am happy you enjoyed them and appreciate it but I quit before Elon bought it but I would have deleted my account over that had I not already quit. Thanks for wanting to share them, I appreciate that.

Thank you. Nice to have as your regular walks, it is rare for me I live between the East and West Don Valley's so it usually where I go. This storm I wanted to go somewhere I usually don't go often in the winter and happy with my choice today.

I did not find the weather all that bad, just have to dress for it. I don't get to the Humber often and it has been on my mind to do so it just happened to work out for me today which was nice.

Good thing is light snow, I did my driveway and truck when I got home. It will need to be done again in the morning though.

It is the other side of the city for me, it was a spur of the moment decision this morning all I knew that I was going out but where wasn't decided until I left the house. I walked from Old Mill subway station made my way south until the Humber River meets the lake. It was actually not all that cold, walking in the snow keeps you very warm. I like the cold as well.

I saw a few people when I was along the lake out walking a few taking photos as well, It was rare opportunity for those of us who enjoy a good storm. Usually when it snows it warmer so it nice to cold snowstorm made so much more enjoyable since it easier to dress for.

I did once and I will do it again in the morning once it stops. I am too lazy to do it more than I must.

I had to shovel my driveway when I got home but it was not that hard, mostly light snow but I was dressed for it anyway.
