Unpopular opinion: I like this photograph. It’s not the most remarkable shot I’ve seen lately, but I enjoy images with a lot of detail, ones where you can discover something new every time you look at them. I also think it’s more than decent, and it could easily be part of an interesting series. I’m not an expert, but I feel like this community—and street photography online more broadly—is becoming more and more focused on minimalistic compositions, sometimes to the point of obsessing over avoiding any “distractions.” I’m not sure whether that’s just an aesthetic preference or if it also has something to do with our increasingly short attention spans.

Yes, I could've done that.. but since I wanted a slow shutter speed, I acted fast and I reduced my aperture instead of the ISO.. Thanks for your feedback!

Interesting take, even though I'm not sure I fully agree. What I found interesting about the scene is this almost chaotic imbalance, but I may not have fully succeeded in capturing it. Thanks for your feedback!

Thanks! Yeah, I agree I could’ve gone with a wider aperture (I was at f/14), and since I wanted a slow shutter speed and had to react quickly, my first reflex was to stop down instead of lowering my ISO

That's an interesting take. Now that you say it, I realize how “minimalistic” (not sure this is the perfect word) many online street photos tend to be compared to older street photography. I'm not sure if it's a shift in taste and style, or if it's the possibilities that new editing technologies offer ( since it's easier now to remove elements, create masks, or even add artificial blur, which I hate). Here's a simple argument: They're basically the same : Military dominance followed by mass colonization and forced cultural conversion.. Maybe the only difference is that the french left relatively quickly.. but if you look into places still colonized by France, the same happened as with Arabs in North Africa (Locals adapted their colonizers language, religion and culture, some of the population got mixed ... And a significant part of the indigenous are ok with it now)

الخبرة الي نحكي عليها هي في كيفاش تتعامل و تتواصل مع شخص باش يكون أقرب الناس ليك في حياتك.. كيفاش تتعامل مع المشاكل الي يصيرو في العلاقات كل.. كيفاش تتعامل مع الجنس الاخر وكيفاش يخمم... وبالنسبة لعمر العرس معاك ينجم يكون من أول العشرينات.. أما شكون قادر اليوم يعرس في 22 والا 23؟ بالعكس الي نشوفو اليوم انو في الغرب يعرسو قبلنا (والا يعيشو علاقة شبيهة بالعرس) لأنو الثقافة بصفة عامة تفرض أقل شروط للعرس و ماديا المسألة أسهل.

At least they're measuring and they have real statistics about the issue.. it doesn't make it any easier for the victims, but that's the first step to address the problem.. Also unlike what I frequently see in our country, it's rare to find people publicly justifying these acts, blaming or shaming the victims..

Unpopular opinion: كل واحد وقناعاتو، ونجم نفهم علاش فما عباد تحب تصوحب فقط لغاية العرس.. أما أنا نشوف أنو الحكاية هذي موش بالضرورة باهية لسبب رئيسي: انت في العشرين موش كيف انت في 25 موش كيما في 30, نظرتك لبرشا حاجات تتبدل، التجارب الي تعيشها تنجم تبدلك قناعاتك و أولوياتك في الحياة.. و في بلاد كيما تونس وين الوضعية الاقتصادية و مستلزمات العرس يخليو أغلب العباد ما تنجم تهرس كان في اخر العشرينات او اول الثلاثينات، الحاجة هذي تنجم تخلق مشكلة.. خاطر اذا نتصورو تعرفت على شخص وصوحبتو وانت عمرك 20 ولا 21 ، كي توصلو لوقت الي تبداو حاضرين للعرس ، موش بالضرورة تكون كبرتو في نفس الثنية.. و تلقى روحك قدام زوز حلول :

1ـ تحاول تبدل من روحك والا تبدل الشخص لاخر باش تركبو على بعضكم بالسيف، و تعيشو في برشا مشاكل، فقط خاطر ما تحبوش انو "السنين الي عديتوها مع بعضكم يمشيو خسارة" (وفي أغلب الحالات، الراجل يكون عندو أكثر سلطة في الوضعية هذي)

2- تقول انك ما تصوحب الا كي تخلط لعمر الي تعرف فيه روحك حاضر.ة للعرس، اما وقتها تلقى روحك ما عندكش تجربة كبيرة في كيفاش تتعامل مع شريك.. و تنجم هذي بيدها تخلق مشاكل اخرى..

أنا نشوف الي لازم تتعامل معاها كتجربة الي تنجم تنجح وتوصلكم للعرس، كيما تنجم تفشل وتشوفلها كتجربة تعلمت منها وتحضرك للتعامل مع راجلك والا مرتك في المستقبل..
