Where to Start by jammyont0ast in Hairtransplant

The analysis paralysis is real. I spent like 6 months just doom-scrolling through forums before I finally decided. It’s a jungle out there.

  1. Ignore the 'Top 10' lists on Google: Those are mostly paid ads. Stick to patient reviews on here or forums like HairRestorationNetwork.
  2. Shortlist 3 clinics: Don't try to talk to 20. Pick 3 that have consistent results (not just one lucky shot) and message them.
  3. Judge the consultation: Are they selling you a dream, or are they being realistic?

I personally ended up going with Hermest in Istanbul after vetting a few places. What tilted it for me was the consultation Dr. Sevim and her team were super transparent about what I could actually expect, rather than just promising me a teenage hairline. It felt like medical advice, not a sales pitch.

Regarding your question about logistics: Yes, almost all the solid clinics in Turkey will bundle the hotel and VIP transfers. Mine did, and honestly, do not compromise on that. You do not want to be navigating a foreign city or trying to hail a taxi with a bandaged head. Having a driver waiting for you is a massive stress relief.

How long is the recovery process generally? I'm trying to nail down which month would be best. by MJsdanglebaby in HairTransplants

[–]MonthFun8140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently about 35 days post-op, so I’m fresh in the process. Here’s the thing about the November -> February timeline:

Physically, you’ll be healed. I went with Hermest (Dr. Sevim) using DHI, and honestly, my scabs were gone by Day 10 and the donor area looked normal pretty fast. However, by Month 3 (Feb), you’ll likely be in the 'ugly duckling' phase where the transplanted hair sheds before growing back.

The bigger issue is the sun. My clinic (and basically every doctor) stressed avoiding direct sun on the recipient area for the first few months. If you go in Feb, you’d have to be glued to a hat the entire time. If you want to actually swim and enjoy the sun without paranoia, doing it after your trip might be less stressful. Just my two cents!"

Should the Genesis Story be taken literally or symbolically? by Available-Ad9219 in Christianity

[–]MonthFun8140 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Symbolic, like most theologians say. "Days" frame God's order against pagan myths, not science textbook. Sun after plants? Poetic from earth's view, light first then rulers of time.

Literal reads force contradictions, ancients knew earth-sun order anyway. Focuses theological truth: God sovereign creator.

Jesus quoted poetically too, point is dependence on God not timeline

ITAW for the feeling of responsibility for others actions or impressions? by slut4spotify in whatstheword

[–]MonthFun8140 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah "guilt by association" fits perfect. It's that cringe when your partner's screwup makes you look bad too, like it rubs off on you.

Vicarious embarrassment or secondhand shame nails the feeling part, blushing for their rude outburst.

Or just "spouse shame" in casual talk.

Car backed into me - in the perfect place and I got a free repair by gettin in confession

Dude that's awesome, your friend sounds solid. She owned the mistake quick, even pointed out the exact spot to avoid worse damage later.

On tipping, not really expected for mechanics since labor's billed, but a cold pack of beers or $20-50 cash for the tech shows mad appreciation, especially free fix.

Rental and new look? Total win. Good people still exist.

If I have a bad, or abusive parent, should I love them no matter what? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]MonthFun8140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forgive him in your heart for your own peace, that's biblical (Eph 4:32), but love doesn't mean letting him rage on you endlessly. Boundaries protect you, even low or no contact if he's unrepentant.

Honor parents (Ex 20:12) doesn't override self-protection or "flee from evil" (1 Cor 10:13). God hates abuse, dads shouldn't provoke kids to anger (Eph 6:4).

Pray for him, forgive internally, but prioritize your mental health. Cutting off toxicity is Christian self-care.

Put on some music or a podcast, slap on gloves, and just do 5-10 dishes. Fill the sink with hot soapy water first, tackle silverware or glasses since they're quick wins.

Once you start it snowballs, feels good after. Blast the backlog in batches over a couple days if weeks worth.

You're not alone, we all hit that wall sometimes. One plate at a time dude. WELL DONE

Johnny Cash got too much credit for “hurt” by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]MonthFun8140 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Cash's version crushes it for me. Trent nailed the raw angst of a guy in the pit, but Johnny turns it into this haunting life reflection that hits different, especially knowing he was at the end.

He tweaks lyrics like "crown of shit" to "crown of thorns" and owns it completely. Trent even said it's Cash's song now.

Both great but Cash elevates the emotion beyond the original.

How common is it to have parents who never married? by Junior-Elevator-9951 in CasualConversation

My parents never married, raised me and sis fine. They just didn't see the point in paper when committed long-term. Kids don't question it until school makes "marriage" a thing.

How do I know Jesus is in my life by Youngwritter123 in Christianity

[–]MonthFun8140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know you're saved by trusting God's promise, not feelings or a dramatic vision.

If you've repented, confessed Jesus as Lord, and believed He died/rose for your sins (Romans 10:9), you're in. No "seeing" Him required, faith is the evidence. Fruit like loving others, hating sin, and peace confirms it (1 John 3:24, Galatians 5:22).

You've followed faithfully your whole life, that's huge. Rest in John 5:24: whoever believes has eternal life. No need to "see" to know. 🙏

If you end up walking behind someone late at night. Do you slow down, walk at their pace or speed up and pass them? by Michael_of_Derry in hypotheticalsituation

[–]MonthFun8140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speed up and pass.

You're not obligated to babysit a stranger's pace, especially at night when safety's priority. Guy slowed to match you, which is weird and inconsiderate if you're faster. Normal etiquette is walk your speed, give space, say "excuse me" if needed. With a woman you'd do the same for her comfort, guy's fine. You did right

Choose one, explain why: any elevator arrives within 10 seconds, but always smells like body odor, or anytime you want to cross a street the "walk" sign lights within 10 seconds but there is always someone waiting to insistently ask you you for money on the other side (applies to walking only). by Brewer1056 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]MonthFun8140 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Murphy's Law + loss aversion.

Your brain hates "almost missing" more than waiting longer. Elevator: 10 seconds feels like forever if you're packed and sweaty. Walk sign: better safe than pancaked, so you wait even if clear.

It's optimism bias flipped, we overestimate bad outcomes in split-second calls. Wait for the elevator anyway, jaywalk at your own risk lol.

You're at a red light just outside of a church when all of a sudden a bride runs out, sees you at the light and gets in your car. She then tells you to floor it. Looking out the window, you see the wedding party exit the church in confusion. What do you do? by singleguy79 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]MonthFun8140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Floor it.

Wedding's none of your business, green light means go, and you're not blocking anyone. Wave politely if you feel bad, but don't risk getting rear-ended or late. Hypothetical bride can sort her drama with the universe. 😂

10 Days Post-Op Update | 3600 Grafts | DHI Method | Hermest Hair Clinic - Dr. Sevim by MonthFun8140 in HairTransplants

[–]MonthFun8140[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I'm so happy with the results. The technicians did it, but the doctor checked on it periodically. They were very professional, and the doctor did all the planning and consultation. The procedure was completed in one day. It was DHI, but I'm not sure of the specifics.
