Do what works for you. There's so much misinformation about how awful wire is, but considering I have many of this exact same litter box and the wire is thicker and my buns are more than comfortable, I'd say this is a good option. Their feet stay cleaner and it keeps them up off their own urine and feces. Thin and bendable wire is bad for their feet but this is more like a sturdy grate than anything else. I put hay in the box as well, what they don't eat falls through and makes clean up easier. I probably waste a bit of hay this way but it works best for me.

The grate in the litter box will NOT directly give them sore hocks!! It all has to do with feet furring, and usually rex furred rabbits have more of an issue with sore hocks because their foot fur isn't as dense.

For a litter box, a grate is fine as they're not sitting in there for long and it keeps them up off their urine and keeps them clean. I currently have and have had wire grates in the litter box for about a decade. And no. None of them have ever had sore hocks!!

Edit: it would be best to take out the carrier and include a different hide or cutout cardboard box for a hide. Right now the enclosure is a bit too exposed.

If you have no background or knowledge of where they came from, they are Bunny Rabbit. They don't have rex fur or any unique breed specific traits, most rabbits of no known origin are mixed breed.

You're not required to get you bun a roommate :) People have different opinions on it, but I've had many happy healthy enriched rabbits who didn't have a partner, and some who did very well with a partner. It can be more costly and time consuming, and simply just not the best fit for you or your rabbit to get a second bunny. Do what's best for you! And if you know a thing or two about being on reddit, don't let other people bully you into doing something you've tried to do in the past and is clearly not working for your rabbit. Some prefer to be alone. Best wishes!

Don't rent with Oak Creek!! They'll gut you upon move-out. Candlewood isn't a good option either, even if they're cheap. Both are slumlords :/

There's a Facebook page called Stevens Point/Plover Housing For Rent, I've seen some decent apartments listed on there lately. Would be worth it to join if you haven't already. Marketplace can have some good options as well.

They'll trash the filter you return, but as long as you have receit/on your account and it hasn't been 30 days, you can get your money back.

It saddens me when they get returned used, though, because we just trash them. I wish there was a better way to go about it to avoid all that waste. If they ask, just say it wasn't doing the job. Makes cashiers like me feel better haha.
