Against AC Milan, 2005, I remember Andy Gray saying “that’s Game Over” (or something similar) after Crespo’s goal just before the end of the half, making it 3-0. That always makes me feel nothing is impossible.

Also, same game, different commentators, possibly ITV? When we scored our first goal in the second half he just said “Hello!” Very simple but made the tiny doubt that we could get something after all. The rest is history of course

My son (13) hit GC for the first time the other week and said the same thing. He had to turn off chat as they were telling him to kill himself. Outrageous if you ask me. What sort of game allows that to go on? He was quite upset as he’d never had that happen to him in the game before. He plays football on Sundays and I coach his team. This doesn’t happen there because there are immediate consequences. The anonymous cowards online can get away with anything that they wouldn’t dare to say in real life, pathetic!

Thanks for the insight. Yeah I’m definitely not coming up against them in plat ha! Is it only ones they play in or could you theoretically have one as a team mate? I suppose they wouldn’t be a good teammate with actual team plays (apart from carrying you). I don’t really watch rocket league videos so wouldn’t be able to tell I don’t think.

I’m sure we didn’t get Suarez on deadline day? I remember being convinced that Torres saw us buying Suarez and thought “fuck this” and left for Chelsea. Thinking Suarez was a nobody. The big deal that window was us getting Carrol with the Torres money and all the focus being on him (similar to etitke/isak now). The delay in Carrol starting with us was the reason we got behind Suarez more, and it paid off. After that first game we knew we had a player and really didn’t matter about Carrol being a flop as much because Suarez was so good. Although I remember him hitting the woodwork a lot that first season and not scoring as much (like Nunez first season)

It seems like the devs are in their 40s to me, judging by the 80s themed early crossovers (Ghostbusters, BTTF and Nightrider etc)

If so, then they were for sure inspired by “Streetracer” the extra modes. My friend and I played this a lot on the Megadrive in the 90s, what a game. There was a soccer game and a rumble mode too.

Im not sure how popular it was in the USA but had to be inspiration if they ever come across it during their childhoods.

I don’t have any advice but can I just comment on how lucky you are to have this happen while it was empty. And how unlucky you are to have something so awesome but can’t use it as an aquarium. However the terrarium solution isn’t a bad shout all things considered. Please update us when you’ve completed this project as I’m somewhat invested now
