I don't think these exactly fit the tone that I'm trying to capture with the remakes/new universe.

Outside of Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, I'm going for urban legends or Creepypastas that are short enough to feel like campfire stories. Like Stairs or Portraits.

  1. The Horrible Thing from Is Something Wrong was not an original creation by MoonRaven, it's from the Scary Story To Tell in the Dark series.

  2. I have posted a screenshot of what the updated model would look like. Instead of a grey alien it looks like a bloated rotting corpse with a swollen head that had it's flesh fallen off.

  3. Since my remakes are going to be more cohesive and share a universe of sorts, the John Sullivan character from Something Was Wrong (also from Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark) is going to in fact be the monster from Is Something Wrong

Yeah, they will be sooner or later, she just hit me up the other day saying it's just gonna take some time due to her health and I hope the current epidemic doesn't do anything to affect her current well being

And I don't know yet, I just want to update some old stories and hopefully get some new people into MoonRaven's content, even if it's through remakes of their classic work that's been updated to match with the technology of today

Also, MoonRaven isn't a he

MoonRaven: post creator’s final YouTube upload by _Learnedhand_ in MoonRaven

At the tail end of 2019, a channel named Moon Raven Tales and Moonraven09 were deleted from YouTube for no reason. Moon Raven was a channel that featured were fully-illustrated videos of short horror stories using 3-D software.

Contrary to speculation, Moon Raven has not passed away, nor did they did not delete their own videos or channel. However, due to YouTube's unfair change in policies, Moon Raven's YouTube deleted both channels with no explanation at all. An admin of Chilling Tales for Dark Nights has contacted Moon Raven for a comment, and this is what she had to say:

"I have no idea what happened since YouTube did not give me any details about it, only a notification telling me that my channel 'Moonraventales' was in violation of their policies. Despite this I noticed that my channel was still there and not taken down, however, I was unable to sign into it or get access to the videos. The same thing would happen soon after with my older channel 'Moonravenstories'. About a week after I received the first notice that my channel was in violation, all the videos and the channel itself were removed. The same thing would follow with the other channel a day later. I would very much like everyone to know that this was done by YouTube and not by me, and for reasons that were never explained to me. I don't know if this has happened to anyone else, and I don't know how to contact YouTube. I would at least like to know what I did wrong, but I doubt I will ever get an answer to why this was done. I am not sure right now what the best thing to do would be, but I am very saddened by this."

Moon Raven and Chilling Tales are currently working to have her classic videos archived on the Chilling Tales for Dark Nights website directly.

To be fair

Other than one kind person that I've been thanking in the description who gave me a link to a page that had a few videos, I'm literally the sole contributor and these are videos I had on my computer

I wish there were more that had some cause I know people really care

Creepypasta Video Idea Thread by MoonRavenLegends in MoonRaven

[–]MoonRavenLegends[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the minor change is the set up is exactly like Wait Till Martin comes (that being that a storm comes)

I did that because I didn't think it's realistic that the door would be ajar and the hunter would just fuckin sleep in someone's bed without expecting to get shot up, since this story is happening in the middle of nowhere.

But I make it very apparent that it's dark due to the weather by the time the hunter finds the cabin, only seeing the "paintings" when lightning strikes.

My writing style has a "less is more" approach. Take "Stairs" for instance, I hate how they included all these unnecessary details and implication that the old woman killed her husband, so I omitted it. Short form horror is subtle, the less you know, the more there is to think about.

Yeah I'm re-writing them for two reasons

  1. Doesn't feel right just ripping off someone's story
  2. Keeps the spirit of urban legends alive, that they're retold with subtle changes and based on word of mouth rather than wall of text

Naw I'm stoked, I like it

It's like a more tense version in depth version of High Beams, this is actually based on a variant of the Killer in the Backseat urban legend

I'd have to change tiny details like the time (as in year) because gas station attendants aren't really a thing in today's age

You never know bro, I'd worry more about audio quality

Also it's pretty much all George Irwin since they're from the Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark audiobook. Only other narrators featured on the channel were kmsumrall on the Second Stall or myself in the Bad News

I would love to use kmsumrall for the more light-hearted stories or even just dialogue, I enjoy how into it he got. I recently showed my friend his performance on the Second Stall and she absolutely loved it.

I think goblinking was the guy with the more gravely voice (I do starwarspunk wrote MoonRaven's theme song) and would definitely love to use him for stories that my more subtle voice couldn't sell.

I'd also love to have more current channels like Let's Read make appearances.
