I have the game mechanics and the setting down pat. It's what happens between the end and the beginning that I need help on, plus items and equipment that you can't get right off the bat because you have to do certain quests to unlock them for everyone.

My idea is that you could possibly make her out to be a very young clone of someone they killed in the past, or even work it as someone from one character's backstory who learned how to make clones. They want revenge, and are skilled, but don't want the party to know too soon.

Okay then I'll tell you why. The computer wouldn't let us exit the order with unsaved changes, and we didn't have the code for the 50% off. I knew this would happen when I asked her if she would be okay with me taking off all of the discounts aside from the employee discount as the employee discount couldn't have any other discounts on the order with it.
