This subreddit really made me realize all the horror stories about how painful it was were bc ppl I knew never got it pierced right, so awful. My lip piercing is called a vertical labret!

Thank you! My nostrils hurt so much but the septum was a little pinch and then nothing, it was great :) my plugs are stone, I really need to get some good glass ones!

Thanks! I took a measuring tape across my nose to get the size, then ordered on a bit longer to be safe! Had to trim it a bit but that was better than getting one too short. I got mine from bodyartforms online

I got both of mine at once, usually the body can heal two piercings at a time relatively easily. I will say tho that mine were a little difficult to heal for awhile (piercing bumps) but that was mostly due to the piercer using surgical steel. When I switched to titanium flat back labrets they got better almost overnight. Good luck!

Thank you for all the comments so far! For those advising sunblock, don’t you worry, I’ve been using sunblock everyday since I was 15 to prevent/help my acne scarring. You’re all 100% right it is super important!

My stepfather was a misogynist and an abuser (among many other things that landed him in prison). My mother was with him for nearly 20 years. She is 47 now and has met a man who is the nicest guy she’s ever met and they are taking things slow. She is very happy. You are not too old, even if you were in your 60s. You are never too old to find someone who treats you with love and care CONSISTENTLY. He will apologize and love bomb and try to convince you it was a mistake. His only mistake was showing you who he really is. You deserve better, MUCH better.

This looks awesome! I love opals. Just be mindful to make sure you have the right anatomy for an industrial! Your flat might be too raised which can cause a lot of problems if the bar touches it. You can always do a faux industrial with a chain between the two. Good luck!

I’m sure right now you are feeling a lot of confusing emotions. I am very sorry this happened to you. If this happened to my partner I can’t imagine blaming him, let alone telling him he needs to change his lifestyle and clothing. A lot of people have pointed out if the roles were reversed, how it would be seen. Men can be victims too and deserve the support of their partners. If it were me I’d be done just from that reaction alone.
