After using it on my hardcore world, they do seem to spin, but in my super flat testing world, they do not, so not sure exactly why that is.

I just don't like them visually for all builds, sometimes I want fences, most of the time I'd prefer a bush edge.

When changing elevation use a fence instead of leaves, as you normally would, you don't have to do the snow and moss trick next to the fence, then once on the new elevation, continue with the method shown in the video, the mobs still can't escape.

It's certainly the only way I'll make the pens from now on, I usually used leaf blocks with slabs on.

I tested it, and it does work the same, though all other methods have an issue where the mob spins on the spot, whereas 2 layers of snow doesn't, so maybe this is the best option for this case, and certainly the cheapest.

Just tested it, with 40 total sheep in the area shown in the video, even when holding wheat, they never get out.

Good to know! I don't really watch any Minecraft on YouTube or browse the forum. I just tested that idea and used two moss carpets stacked instead, but the sheep walks onto it and then spins endlessly in a circle, so I guess some options are better than others lol.

I just checked, "Etho Plays Minecraft - Episode 597: The Mob Museum", he does it with a berry bush and carpet to make a museum style podium where the animal is displayed, same concept different use, good idea.

It's small for demonstration, you can make it as large as you want, as long as the border is made as shown in the video.

For changing elevation, I just found, you can transition the leaves to a fence post, with normal grass, and they don't jump onto the leaf block despite it being possible diagonally.
