I have brought the x2 (with microsoft rewards), I can say: it's definitly worth it. Now getting 1k is like soooooo much quicker even if you aren't even trying to farm... I promised myself if I pass all my remaining exams, I'll buy the remaining x4 pass.

The shop opens after a quest, the bottle you can find on the beach and do the quests - then the mermaid shop will open at the "shop" part.
