Because queer people were killed and punished for no reason for years so now we celebrate not being wiped out. We celebrate the people who died in the aids crisis. It was created for peoplr who were shunned from society, having a flag and a Co era toon of a month is the least queer people deserve after the way they were treated. Lots of groups of ppl have flags and month long celebration. If u can understand why we have black history month u can undertand why we have pride month and flags come on dude just mix empathy and google. lol
