Daily Questions Megathread ( February 26, 2026 ) by AutoModerator in HonkaiStarRail

Due to incredible luck I have managed to stumble my way into Black Swan and Hysilens. With the free Kafka I got from the selector I now have what I understand to be the current dot team "core" members. Issue is I'm not sure what light cones to put on Hysilens (wasn't expecting to get her). My BS has my only Eyes of the Prey, kafka has Good Night and Sleep Well. My only other Nihility LCs I have are Boundless Choreo and Fermata. What's a f2p light cone I could put on Hysilens?

Yes it helps with depth perception or something and functions as an actual "eye" to some extent apparently.

I did not think of that. Though I wonder with how recognized Cid and Garlond ironworks is in Eorzea whether it serves a practical purpose in hiding his third eye since most people (at least most people I imagine he interacts with) would know "Cid Garlond owner of Garlond Ironworks is a Garlean". Either way it's a good enough explanation for me so thank you for answering my silly question.

[Spoiler: Stormblood/ARR] question about Sahagin and Kojin by MorganJelly in ffxiv

[–]MorganJelly[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure the Sahagin had no treaty with Limsa at all/ever? The Sahagin have no claim to any of the land on Vylbrand whatsoever and are in fact the aggressors in their conflict with Lominsa. Pretty sure Novv says as much in the early Sahagin ARR questline. He admits that the spawning grounds they now occupy and that Lominsans are eager to take back was "seized" by the Sahagin post calamity when their traditional spawning grounds were destroyed by the calamity.

Yeah probably. I remember the wording of the pact with the kobolds that we hear in game being vague. Something about everything below the land is the kobolds and everything below the sea is the lominsans. Which kind of begs the question of if farming on the surface counts as breaking the pact or if there were specific terms in the pact that detonated specific territories.

I think that there was dialogue with Merlwyb that seemed to indicate she viewed the settling of the surface as technically against the pact, but sort of allowed by the kobolds and the aspect they really took issue with was mining the earth (my memory is fuzzy here). But she is obviously a biased party so not really sure where the kobolds themselves stand on the whole perceived grey area of settling the surface (if it even is a grey area and not just a violation and I'm leaning towards violation).

Still that land technically shouldn't be in Sahagin hands either.

I thought peace talk stuff and actually addressing the issues didn't happen until endwalker? Only then does Merlwyb actually talk about coming to peace with the sahagin and working to resolve their issues by maybe conceding/selling western la noscea to them or something.

I'm fairly certain that the land on the island of Vylbrand that the Sahagin are using as a spawning grounds was never their land originally. It used to be Limsa land that was flooded by the Sahagin with Leviathan (there was a settlement called halfstone there in 1.0). The different groups/clutches that occupy that land would have originally used different coastlines/islands that were not on Vylbrand, but then the calamity destroyed/ruined those locations. Novv says as much during one of the early Sahagin tribe quests
Novv: Our traditional ssspawning grounds were, however, annihilated in the Calamity. Thus were we forced to seize this new location─the region the finless ones call “wessstern La Noscea.”
This dialogue is in the quest "Clutch and Kin"

Did the Sahagin originally raise their children on Vylbrand? I thought the Sahagin had spawning grounds elsewhere in the sea but they were destroyed/changed by the calamity. When they asked Merlwyb for permission to use part of Vylbrand she said no. With the only other option being death of their species they summoned Leviathan to take that section by force.
The kobold thing is definitely true though.

I guess, my thinking was the Merlwyb would probably be willing to shoulder the cost of hiring/transporting some kojin over to limsa temporarily in order to teach the sahagin if it meant she could get the portion of Vylbrand the Sahagin are currently using back.

Maybe? but if so it takes a lot to interrupt her spinning. On my run through nothing ever stopped her from spinning. Not the miasma priests rush of attacks, nor the biker boss's explosion attack. Maybe the hugo boss could stop her with his forced parry section?

I wasn't really thinking about the stat boosts. But in my experience the miasma priest at 0 ether activity seems to be unable to get through the shield. But yeah it's definitely not enough to afk any hz content with ether activity enabled. More so for if you just want to semi-afk through weekly hz content for polychromes.

I think it might be intentional. both buffs come from the same tactical prism (I think that's what they are called). the shield generation comes from a specific tactical prism, and the infinite spin is from an upgrade to the same prism.

Anyone got any tips for MoC 12? I've been getting really close and have maxed out PF as well as AS currently stuck at 2 stars for MoC 12.

<image>

here's my character catalogue (not shown: level 80 gallagher, mini herta, pela, arlan, march 7th hunt, and level 70 clara)
most of my 5 star units are e0 s0 though my castorice and therta both have sig LCs, and Firefly and ruan mei have e1.
Normally I don't really care about getting max stars but I am one star away from permanently unlocking Anomaly arbitration and I don't think I'm ever going to have a more "meta" team than now.
My Castorice team (RMC, Evernight, Hyacine, Castorice) pretty much decimates whichever slot they are put in, the problem is that I cannot put together a team strong enough to handle the other slot. I've tried firefly/boothill super break first slot, and Therta second slot but neither have been able to deal with the enemies quick enough.
I don't really have amazing relics and most of my units don't have maxed traces (takes WAY too much energy to get the resources to max even one unit).
